How do you feel about the Commanders Brand 2.0?

  • Vastly improved, if this is THE brand moving forward I’m satisfied.

  • I like the direction, but I still feel more to do. I will/have specified in thread.

  • I don’t like this new direction. I didn’t like the old either. They can’t make this work for me.

I will still say I want to see the logo on the hat also on the helmet, not the single color ‘gold’ we have now. That minor change would be a massive upgrade imho

That is exactly why I have come to like it. Nothing will come close to comparing to the most beautiful logo in sports history.

Once I started looking at the W in a vacuum - and not trying to come up in my head with a non NA logo that would compare to Two Guns White Calf which will always be a failing endeavor - I have come to like it. Especially the version on the "SB era" helmets.

The burgundy outline on a gold " W " isn't going to show up on a burgundy helmet. Its basically going to look exactly like what we have now.
With a burgundy helmet, you have a couple other options.
Just a gold outline ( like on the helmet at the top of this thread ), which I guess is maybe what you're saying, or
A white " W " with a gold outline.

On a side note: I actually kind of like that Bengals helmet.

The hat is a burgundy W with a gold outline similar to the image at the top of the thread, make it a glossy decal on a matte hat and it will pop plenty
 
I'm softening on rocking gear with just the 'W' on it, but you still won't catch me wearing anything that says "Commanders"...just a reminder of the bad old days, being lied to, sexual harassment, all Dan's mess. My body is not a billboard for any of that. And, seems like the team realizes this segment of fan exists since their making new gear with the team name conspicuously absent.

I picked this hat up recently.

I am curious how you compartmentalize this. He did all of this under "Redskins" too, only for much longer. Snyder owned the "Redskins" from 1999 to the dropping the moniker in 2020. Add to that GPM's blatant racism for decades. Our only real success was ~11 years: '81-'92. We had some success under Allen in the mid '70s, but other than that, there is a lot of negative associated with Redskins too.

I guess i feel like i don't have to compartmentalize anything because I also thought it was long past time for "Redskins" to go.

The replacement just happens to suck eggs and stink of Dan.

A fresh start that somehow honored the past would have been ideal to me...but, here we are.

Fair point, I was just curious--a lot of people make that complaint; but disassociate all the bad history associated with Redskins too--almost entirely because of Gibbs.

My personal take:

From 1971 until the WOS the Skins were competitive - then a dynasty under Gibbs. 20 years of being a decent to excellent franchise. (I can't imagine the percentage of fans alive that remember GPM years is that deep into the double digits, so he is removed from the equation). So most older fans have 20ish years of good times to bump up against 20ish years of bad times. With those good times encapsulating 3 SBs.

To me those good times are the Redskins and the WOS could not sully the name or the logo, try as he might. Because the Redskins were my team. My parent's team. My grandparent's team. And all my extended DMV family members' team. The imposter "fan" WOS just held the purse strings.

When I see the most beautiful logo in sports history, I hear my Grandmother screaming at the tv and jumping out of her chair almost drowning out Frank Herzog's voice with "touchdown Washington Redskins." I don't even think about the WOS.
 
Picked this up at the stadium today. I think this is a new hat. Haven’t seen it before today, but it’s a Mitchell & Ness “Legacy” Commanders hat.

Looking at Tuddy today, seems to be hitting the weight room, but he still has the beer belly lol.
 
I will also add that they were giving out these koozies today. They look and feel like a football. Pretty cool freebie. 👍

I think 'Tuddy' was just another annoying embarrasing Jason Wright invention. But as many have said, I think mascots are created for the kids and if they enjoy 'Tuddy' more power to them, lol...
