How do you feel about the Commanders Brand 2.0?

  • Vastly improved, if this is THE brand moving forward I’m satisfied.

  • I like the direction, but I still feel more to do. I will/have specified in thread.

  • I don’t like this new direction. I didn’t like the old either. They can’t make this work for me.

Which is weird right? Are they trying to pivot from the idea of ‘Commanders’ being an obscure military rank to ‘Commanders’ representing Roman Legions?

It actually makes more sense in some ways but I’m not sure how easy it would be to pull that off… a weird thing to put out there as some kind of fan Easter egg…

One of my long held arguments was that the spear is not only for Native Americans and did not need to be jettisoned. Spears have been used by man to hunt since the dawn of time. The use of a spear makes perfect sense even with a name like Commanders.

A spear or spears can unite the old with the new in an indirect way, as long as it is not identical to the Redskins spear. A Roman or Greek variation makes perfect sense.
 
That picture is exactly the crap I'm talking about when I say I wish they'd just quit jerking long time fans around.
So as an owner, you're stuck with a shitty name that has no ties to burgundy and gold so when fans do get pissed off, you tease them with hints of the original name.

Just stop with the trolling.
 
Yeah, I think at this point, there's little to be gained by putting fans through more changes. Make some minor uniform tweaks if you want but I really don't have the stomach for more change if it's not going to involve a new name. We've had enough angst over the past 3 years as it is. The folks who like or don't mind 'Commanders' aren't going to care, and nothing you can do for the folks who detest Commanders is going to make them love it. Just let it go.

Yeah, I think that's a different conversation - since by definition a 'throwback' harkens back to the history of the franchise, vs. trying to somehow 'Redskin-ize' the current brand which I view as problematic.
 
I don’t know if anyone else noticed this but that is definitely a wooden shield behind Jayden as well. Not to mention what looks like shoulder armor to the left and a rammer or torch. I’m definitely getting Greco-Roman vibes. I had given up they could take an approach like this but it makes a ton of sense to go that route. All over D.C. there are Greco-Roman style buildings. Western Civilization was built on the teachings of Ancient Greek philosophers.
 
What spear? Is it on top of the helmet? I can't see it?
