Random Commanders Thoughts

The caption says Charles “Bud” Wilkinson, presidential assistant and former football coach, is at left of Nixon. Something isn't right? Why is the President of the USA sitting on the bleachers in a crowd like that? And that stadium cannot be RFK. I can't figure it out. I know Nixon was buddies with the owner back then. And Nixon was a big Redskins fan. I remember that from when I was a kid.

Edit: Oh I see! You're right! That's Bush! Hahahah. Three people to Nixon's left. I actually recognized him but I couldn't recall why! It's Bush! Well done!

Editx2: That looks like Henry Kissinger behind Bush. What do you think?

Yeah, that looks like Kissinger. I swear, that almost looks like Spencer Tracy in front of and to the left of Bush...

I think you might be right! Same nose, same mouth, same folds around the mouth. It's a smorgasbord of famous people.

One of the guys I knew on ES was a stadium expert. He was obsessed with stadiums. Wish I still had contact with him. I just remembered his name just now. His real name. I'll google him.

Edit: Found him on FB. That didn't take long. We were actually friends on FB. Who knew? I am not really active on FB. I just messaged him.

These are selling like hot cakes. 6 in the past 24 hours.

I think it's AI. NIxon's smiling. Nixon never smiled :silly:;)

Young G.H.W. Bush to Nixon’s left?
I'm George.

I hear there is some sort of ‘big game’ today. Can anyone confirm?

When I evaluate special teams I ask if they gave up big returns, had kicks blocked, bad snaps or missed way too many field goals. Anything they get in the return game is a bonus, just don't have a lot of penalties on returns that puts you back to the 10.

IMO they passed this test. I think the special teams played pretty damned well, the kick coverage was excellent. They didn't win any games like Allen and Gibbs teams did but they didn't cost us either and were solid all year.

Yeah, I agree DGF. We were very aggressive on teams, especially on returns coverage. I feel like those guys set a tone in most games with how physical we were going to be, and pretty disciplined as well. And despite our kicker challenges, you have to give the guys thrust into action credit - for the most part they really stepped up big. Probably the best Special Teams play we have seen in quite a while at least in terms of consistency.

It was interesting hearing Logan Paulson talking about Yankoff and Owens. He felt that they had the potential to be really good at special teams and might make a career out of it, but doubted they'd contribute all that much on offense or defense.

Johan Dotson has a ring
I can understand your feelings, but Jahan never really wronged us. He just wasn't good enough. He also really wasn't good enough for the Eagles, too, though interestingly, he may have had his best game during the Super Bowl.

I can be happy for him... Well, as happy as I can be for any Eagle lol.
