Associates Press (AP). It’s announced at NFL Honors I believe the week before the Super Bowl. Same time they announce MVP, Coach of the year and others
 
It's always been annoying to me to announce that shit right before the Super Bowl. What about if a guy in the bowl gets snubbed? Is that inside his head? Anyone named or not, its a distraction.

Why the rush to name the awards? The year isn't over. Did you say Over? Roger that. It's not over until we decide it is.

In fairness, the entire world knew Eberflus was going to be fired before the season started. That’s not on Williams.

And Mustard, I mean Mayo, had a bottom 5 roster and talent and was in a lose/lose situation.

I think all the QBs will end up being good. And Bo Nic also.
 
Even if it could have been foreseen…it doesn’t change the result. Organization failure is not an excuse for results.

I was going to say that Jayden's success and the coaches of NE and Chi getting fired also speaks to the importance of coaching and infrastructure to developing a young QB.

You are saying, they now have what they need to succeed?
QB success doesn't just hinge on the QB, he doesn't control scheme, personnel around him, etc.
I think Caleb is probably now in a good place with his new coach, I may not like him but dude knows how to scheme offense in my opinion, last week's game notwithstanding thankfully.

I am not 100% sure on NE. I imagine Vrabel is going to emphasize OL a lot, get the running game going, and then yes, Drake will probably be good too. McDaniels coming back should help there as well.

It definitely looks like things are aligned for all of them to do well going forward. We'll see.
 
Overpaying for QBs like Purdy or Wilson who play well with the talent at hand has a deleterious effect on franchises, but paying top dollar to elite QBs who elevate the talent around them is worthwhile.

I always said the worst situation you could have isn't drafting a bust. It's drafting a guy who's just good enough to make you doubt yourself. I.E. Daniel Jones. Imagine if we had the Giants issue with Dwayne Hashkins (RIP).

"Overpaying" by definition is always a problem. The issue is always figuring out what the real replaceable value is. How good your coaching may be at replacing what you are getting from person A/B/C, but there are other complications beyond the numbers too on sports teams that are real, like chemistry.

This team right now has a real amount of chemistry. Regardless of what happens tomorrow, that is definitely the case here. I wouldn't rush to make wholesale changes; I would be careful. I wouldn't discount some dudes just because they are "less talented" if they are willing to put in the work for this team. I know many have talked about our WR Corps being in that category; I am not sure I agree, having seen so many "high-talent" teams fail and "low-talent" teams succeed for these kinds of reasons.
