Pretty sure it was screwing with OM The Bard about a roach clip he found in the back yard. That or him gettin on me for busting about Norvs mole :ROFLMAO:

Fun to see all these old friends. I've been aggravating some of these folks since the Sporting News message boards. ES was a Godsend, and was home for many years. Gave me my most memorable football memories as a staff member covering a few games. Even to the point of shipping me up from Florida to cover a home game. I'd never been to a home game before. I owe ES and a large part of the staff a lot....
 
Fantastic recap, thank you. Brings back memories. I started out at TSN before coming over....bought many a t shirt and cap. Lol

If memory serves, before you moved out West, didn't you show up at one of our tailgates, at E43, without a jacket on a pretty chilly day?
 
I remember that day/night. I had lived in the Park City area for nearly 20 years by that time. It was nearly tshirt weather for me at that time. Got cocky though. Didn't bring the coat and I was freezing by the beginning of the 4th quarter. Ooooops.

This entire thread is such a cool walk down memory lane. I first joined ES in '05 and like everyone else, can't even imagine how much time I've spent on the boards. Then got to meet Mark The Homer at a tailgates in 2008 and have been friends with his family ever since. We all still stay in touch to this day, just spoke with his daughter a few weeks back.

Thanks to the BGO crew for creating this space. Gives us a new home to keep this crazy thing alive (and what feels like even in a better form, like the good ol days). Hard to explain to outsiders - my wife thinks I'm nuts. But it's one of those things, that ya just had to be there to understand. From the Jason Campbell debates, to sending in our fan cards, to Drunk Eli, to the paloffs, and more....it's a special community we've got here.

i lurked on ES for a long time, and then my first post was about the stolen "Game 6" Sac Kings versus Lakers game. I was there for over 20 years, through all of the Snyder bullshit...

then, just when the team had finally shed voldemort, had drafted the exciting new face of the franchise,...... the CURRENT management killed ES without a single courtesy. Really, it has been the final nail in the coffin for me. I grew up falling asleep in the back seat listening to Ken Beatrice as my dad drove home from RFK. my FIRST memory that i can place is watching the superbowl against mIami (the first one, miami's undefeated season, the one the Skins lost) in my uncle's basement..... i have a lifetime of happy memories, and a significant portion of my primordial dna relationship with my father (who died before ES was born) is tied up in this team.....

but the fkers killed it. killing ES killed a community. and i can't forgive them. i won't forgive them. ever. they took away my community, and now they have taken away my fkking team, too.......

I'm sure those two things are unrelated.

It seems like the fkers have their priorities straight by concentrating their resources on making the team better, not a message board for a miniscule percentage of the fan base. Those fkers are the reason for the historic turnaround and have turned us from a laughing-stock embarrassment, back into a respectable, competitive organization. If it meant the end of a message board, so be it Like most, I joined ES because I'm a fan of the team, not message boards. There are only 32 teams, but a shit-ton of message boards.

I'd venture to say that someone took a look at ES and, (right or wrong), had it shut down after reading some of content, especially in the Tailgate. I loved ES and the Tailgate, but how can anyone on the team in their right mind allow the team to be associated with a lot of the shit that was posted there? There are countless sites for smarmy, smart-ass, negative, ignorant and politically charged content, but a message board that can be linked from team site is not one of them. I loved ES, but it's gone and it's not coming back.

I think it's a pretty safe bet that the team will address it...
 
LOL - there's a website at the ExteremeSkins url now, but it appears to be stuck in 2010 or so. There's also a handy forum "The Fuck App." WTH happened here? :ROFLMAO:

I'll be the contrarian here. The Stadium was where the ignorance came from on ES. People who thought they were football geniuses because of their Madden skills. Clowns. 😆

I think that is common in everything. Average intelligence is not all that impressive and half are below that.

Giving them some benefit of the doubt, they're in serious negotiations for what to do with a stadium. They're dealing with thin-skinned politicans. They probably needed it put to rest to get some money.
