Nice win today to get a little payback from the loss last week. Tough game, as it always is against the Bruins, and weathered a fierce attack the last 5-7 minutes until Protas gets the empty netter. Only negative…Ovi didn’t get on the scoresheet.
 
Fun game to watch. Caps were unplayable for a good bit of the game. Mistakes gave up the Rangers first two, but every time NY scored, Ovi and the boys just put it in the net again and again.

Carbery has been fantastic, and hopefully he has a nice, long career in DC. Has completely turned the franchise around with Patrick bringing in solid talent on a budget. When Baskstrom and Oshie’s contracts are off the books, Patrick will have even more money for free agency, and seeing what Carbery is doing to revitalize Ovechkin and others, this franchise should be a factor for a while…as long as Ted just pays the bills, and stays out of the way.

Almost to the season’s halfway point, and the hiccup I keep waiting to happen, hasn’t. Protas with his career high in goals after just 39 games! Strome back on the scoresheet! And Ovi just keeps on cooking! Been a fun season, so far.
 
The Caps are just far and away better than the Rangers. Their goals were a goalie giveaway, and Ovi giveaway, a breakaway, and Carlson getting caught in the offensive zone for an odd man rush. Basically for the Rangers to score, they needed the Caps to be almost completely incompetent. And they still lost 7-4. Just complete domination the last 50 minutes of the game.

Also, Ovi can still score. What he is doing is probably more impressive than the chase of Gretzky. 19 goals in 23 games. And four in five games after having a broken leg. Just simply amazing.
 
IN OT as soon as the caps player didn't take the shot and turned it over I knew it was over. It was an awful OT play by the caps and a bad game overall
 
Sweet snipe by the Great8 last night in OT to get another road win. Oh, and BTW, Logan Thompson is a beast!
 
That's 4 straight wins now, right? Lovin' it.
 
I have 3 Jagr rookie cards. About 15 years ago, I thought they were my retirement. 😢
