So when will the Redskins Logo get back on the helmet and playing field?

Hard disagree on this one: fans are fickle and stupid. That’s the worst way to run a franchise in any phase.
Huh? That may be a really fitting one.

The Washington Bunglers.

Good one, Boone

Honestly, the best thing about Commanders is that the players don’t have to be interviewed after the game and asked their opinion on Redskins or what the new name should be.

Make no mistake, that was a problem. I don’t much care for Commanders, but I don’t miss those days at all.
Oh make no mistake, there is no "best thing about Commanders".

They can do better but I disagree. Commanders is better than constant badgering and distraction.

So, I caught some of Al Galdi's podcast last night. He had Michael Phillips on. Phillips has been covering the team for years and host a show on 910 TheFan here in Richmond.
Galdi asked about the possibility of a rebrand.
" 100% percent I think there will be a rebrand. They've had two years to try to get people to rally around Commanders and they haven't done that."
" I think it's an objectively bad name
" Has the Snyder stench to it, and always will. "
Said he's been asked what if they win the Super Bowl ? He said that would be a wonderful " problem " to have.
He said Harris is going to want to monetize his investment. He wants to win, but he also wants to make money.
Said Harris would want a " globally exciting brand " to go along with the new stadium. " I think 100%, a rebrand is coming. "

Galdi then asked him, when ?
Said they could play the long game and tie it in with the stadium in 2030, but that Daniels play, may have accelerated the process

For whatever that may be worth.
It may be my phone but do we have a thanks "like"? I used to use that a lot in prior life. Was a heart from memory

It's the "clapping hands" here. Hold the "Like" button down and they all show up.

No, I don't think they should cater to the whims of fans.

Exactly and add the fact there is no clear cut solution to the issue that most fans get behind. I have a feeling we're stuck with it.

I really doubt a few questions after games from time to time weighed that heavily on players. In fact, at times, I'm sure it was a relief to have some of the heat taken off the players after a bad game (of course, the opposite would be true if attention was taken off the players after a good game...but we know there's been far more bad than good since the name has been a HOT topic). Additionally, it's not like the topic of name change, branding, etc. has completely disappeared.

You may or may not be aware that Bruce Allen actually had a PowerPoint training session given to the players on “how to defend the name” back in the day. If they felt that actually was a needed step the issue was definitely a distraction. The other 31 team’s players were only asked about Football. The actual point of all this is the game of Football. I don’t want my players worried about anything in their professional lives except winning football games.

You just made a point that because Bruce Allen prioritized something, it must have been a priority. You've never gotten things from your upper management at work, read it (or not read it) and then never really given it another thought?

I'm not arguing the fact that it took up more time than other teams...that's obvious. I just can't imagine that too many players gave it much thought outside of the 5-10 minutes per week they were answering a question or two from media members. Do you really think Chris Cooley or Clinton Portis or Jordan Reed were studying their playbooks only to find themselves wondering about the plight of offended Native Americans or the history of the name? Get real :)

All that distraction hasn't seemed to have hurt the Chiefs much :)

I think this thread is sort of silly, but hey, that's just me. It's got us talking about Bruce Allen again.

:puke:

Looks like this has become a pseudo name change thread?

Anywho- I am in Nawlins for the game and the French Quarter is quickly filling up with fans who travelled from the DMV. I would say that solid 80-90% are wearing Redskins gear. Not Washington, not C stuff.

I already know that there is a majority of fans who would support bringing Redskins back, (as well as I know that that is a pipe dream), but clearly among fans that are spending a considerable amount of their hard-earned money to support the team the current name is not speaking to them.

I will not be even a little surprised to hear Hail to the Redskins sung loud and proud in the Superdome.
