Think he's definitely the type of guy one likes to have around, hope he finds his sweet spot on productivity and get's it done.
Maybe Niles can give him some pointers too, eh?

Coming out of the draft, people called me a “joker,” a “tweener,” a guy who could do a lot of different things. So it’s cool to be able to hold true to that as I start my third season. It definitely gives our defense versatility and makes it harder for the offense to determine what package we’re in. I’m happy to add value wherever they need me.

I learned a lot of things while working with the D-line, and one of the most valuable was how to work with my hands. It’s not like defending tight ends. With the offensive line, they’re really powerful and strong. You learn that the best way to take on those blocks is truly with your hands, and getting extension, and really being able to control the block and angle.

I’ll be bringing that emphasis on using my hands back with me to the edge.

So many people are very down on this kid. They'll find a way to maximize his skill eventually. He's blue collar all the way, works hard, does what he's asked, and for me, hard not to like.
 
After playing well last night and showing a good arm, the Redskins are not going to be able to waive Nate Sudfeld and hope to add him to the practice squad for 2016. We are going to have to carry 3 quarterbacks on the 53 man roster. The league is just too qb starved at this point to expect someone else not to claim him.
 
Both Philly and Miami are desperate for a starting OT. That's something to monitor.
 
So, Gruden said they focused a bunch on the run game today. I have to wonder... if our run D sucks, that would make the run game look good in practice. Not a very good gauge in my book.
 
I think Junior Galette will sign a very team friendly deal for three years next offseason. He will be a great backup to the established starter, Preston Smith. If another injury occurs, then releasing him will have very little impact on the cap.

My $0.02.

Why?

I realize it's pre-season and we have great hopes for guys who have never shown much, but nobody is going to trade anything for a 30 year-old backup tackle who's played about half a season of NFL football, simply because his current GM said he was awesome in a fluffy offseason interview. Hopefully he's a true diamond in the rough. If he is, he'll make our team better, and yay for that.

But no one is going to give us anything for him.
 
I figured out what was causing the problem with liking posts. It was a Firefox add-on called YesScript.
I added it because some scripts on BGO were causing ultra-mega delays in loading pages. It was only happening on BGO and no other site.
And the long delays happened every single time I loaded any page, whether it was a refresh, or clicking to any other page on the forum.
The YesScript Add-On totally fixed that problem. But now it prevents me from liking posts.
So, unless I find a solution to all this, I'll either have to choose with going without the add-on, and getting those insane delays on every page load, or going with the add-on, and losing the ability to Like posts.

I guess this post may have been more fitting in the Bug Forum, or in the Tech Help thread, I don't know.

Yes, if an entire team is made up of utility players, that's bad. However, that's also completely irrelevant to the discussion on whether or not there is a place for one specific player like that on a team.

While I agree mostly with what you're saying...if he continues to show in the pre-season how dominant he is, like he did in the first game, there will be more value placed on him than simply the words of our GM.
 
You can go back and forth on this. The Redskins gave up a #5 pick for Derrick Carrier, a TE who up until that point had not proven anything in the NFL. He also plays a much less critical position on the field for the offense.

So, I could see a team that hopes to be a contender trade a pick to the Redskins if a tackle goes down in the preseason.

We're talking about a lot more than a fifth or a sixth.

The Eagles traded up six spots to get the No. 2 overall choice from the Browns, with a package that includes the eighth overall selection, plus third- and fourth-round choices this year, a first-rounder next year and a second-rounder in 2018.

The Eagles invested a ton for a QB that missed 8 games last year due to injury.

Now he's down with broken ribs in his very first preseason game.

Their backup T is literally hot garbage. Worse than Leribeus. And they have no 1st next year.

Code Green lol.

So it's not a question of if they are going to pay up, but rather which team is going to be their trade partner.

We gave up a 5th for Carrier. That puts the floor at a 3rd or 4th for a starting T. That's still not enough to grab a talent like Cox.

Maybe offer them Ty, plus a 3rd and 6th on top of it so they can get back some of those draft picks?

Certainly there's some price that would be attractive enough to be worth protecting the health of their franchise QB and their next few seasons.

And we get an elite player at the age of 25 that would just about complete our defense.

Something to at least think about.

Not gonna happen. There is very little comparison between a conditional pick for a 24 year old backup who actually made NFL rosters his entire pro career and expecting a package deal for a pro-bowler involving a 30 year old backup who has spent all but one season in the CFL.

If something does happen it will involve a ton of picks and wont be awesome.

But its the offseason, so lets dare to dream. :)

Miami is another possibility.

Their QB was absolutely rocked over and over this weekend. Brandon Albert can no longer play the position. I assume they will push him over to G and let Tunsil play T.

But...their other T sucks too.

They also have likely the worst GM in the league. He's approaching Vinny bad.

He destroyed his last team and he was abused this offseason in Miami.

They're going to panic and we can take advantage of them. Just another team to keep an eye on.
