Random Commanders Thoughts

Just talking about the design style of the model. I understand where you're comin from John, but from a pure design stand point, it looks sound to my armature eye. Problem is, they really haven't come up with a technique that uses modern construction / engineering and gives a vintage look on large scale projects.

Few of these beauties in the moat and it'll be cool....am I right?!?!

That bottom one I'll sign off on.

Yeah, Mercedes Nenz Stadium looks pretty bad ass. But I kinda like the RFK feel to the other stadium, so... I did kinda think Snyder would build a retractable roof.

Is it just me or does it look like a flower from above (albeit an angular one!)?

They should call it 'The Rose Bowl' ;P

Yep, can see it too Knight, very origami-ish

Another picture of the proposed stadium.......this would be absolutely awesome. But it seems a little unrealistic. This would work in Florida....but in DC weather?

A beach at the stadium.

Don't know if it's a done deal or not but the LA goats stadium looks kind cool.

Still... every time I see that LA stadium, I think of burning ants with a magnifying glass as a kid.

What actually intrigues me more is the group of amphitheater looking things off to the right with green in the bottom. They seem to be part of the model.

I was wondering about that too.
Don't know how far along this concept thing is but those little 'bowls' are interesting.
They seem to be pushing the tailgate/game day experience, wonder if they have something to do with that.

On a side note, seems like there's a strangely unintentional influence in the concept. :)

I guess the positive thing about us getting a closed roof, is it makes us a greater candidate for hosting a Super Bowl, since we're a cold-weathered winter city.
Maybe the Skins could be the first team to have a home game at the Super Bowl.

While it wasn't what I think I would want for a stadium in DC, I did find it very attractive and a huge upgrade over what we have now.

Given my choice though, after a couple of years of watching English soccer, I think want something more like what Tottenham are currently building for a stadium, with a huge Kop End off one end zone.

a beach and surf in DC? That would never work because you'd have to heat the water for most of the time during winter home games, worry about it freezing...and who is going to sunbathe in 9 degree weather?

is this the BGO April Fools gag?!!

Wonder if Snyder is trying to replace Six Flags with the outdoor wave pool at the new digs as the ultimate white trash getaway on a Summer day.... :chinese:

I keed, I keed... sort of...

It's not a moat but a "lazy river".

I can see it now.....

Boone,Om, McD5,BB and Mike on their tubes...beer in hand...floating around and getting too sloshed to make gametime.........
