Technically you are correct but the 89 Super Bowl was Walsh's team. It's just like Switzer winning a Super Bowl. He was the head coach but it was still Jimmy Johnson's team.

The Giants by 1991 were an older team across the board and were in transition. Their appearance in the SB was somewhat of a surprise.

The 49ers meanwhile had better depth and a core of younger vets kept them winning with Steve Young after both the Redskins and Giants fell off.

So, I would credit Walsh because he brought in Young and Co and the systems he installed were the same ones the team was running 5 years after he had retired.

Comparing apples to oranges the redskins haven't developed talent in years but they have been the last 3-4 years so it looks like that is changing you can't hit every position every year
plus hatcher was injured for most part of 5 games so if he plays those 5 games does he have more?
 
The point is you don't give $10M to a 32 year old free agent when the team is coming off a 3-13 season and clearly rebuilding.

The Redskins were not going to the SB in 2014 regardless of any one player they added, so the smart move would have been to pass on Hatcher and have that $4M to spend in 2015 on someone a lot younger and not just coming off a career season.
 
That drum is well beaten. We definitely can agree you didn't like that signing.
 
Well, I am only responding to some of the posters on here who continue to support these decisions and defend the lunacy that has been going on seemingly since the beginning of time in this organization.

I don't like knee jerk haters, but I don't like idiot homers either. If folks simply want to be a smiling cheerleader no matter what the score is, put a dress on and pick up a set of poms.

They are enablers. And I don't abide that.

In my business you either succeed or get out of the way.

There is no such thing as 4 or 5 years to get something going in the right direction.

I have worked in businesses where sales execs have 3-6 months to show improvement on the register and if they don't achieve it they are out on the street looking for a new job.

I am not going to feel sorry for a guy making $1M a year who is too lazy to show up to practice on time or who has failed to learn the playbook after having no other priorities in front of them.
 
Sorry that you're stuck in the 80s with your constant comments about Gibbs. But that was 30 plus years ago and there is nothing remotely the same as back then.

In your business? Are you in the nfl? If so you should get a job with the skins. Otherwise you are just like us and judging from your couch. We've all worked in great companies and shitty ones..that doesn't mean you know anything more than that idiotic homer you look down upon.
