Shave Out Cancer: Because Bald is Beautiful - Dec 28th Event at FedEx Field

MIA, Mike in Alexandria is spearheading an event to help raise money for Cancer research. It will be held at the ES tailgate for the Dallas game. Now I do understand the current sentiment for some regarding not attending the games, but not only would you be able to either observe or participate in this event, you would also help keep another Dallasshole out of a seat at the stadium, which I would personally appreciate. :)

If nothing else, please donate if you can.

It will be Dallass Week, and what better way to celebrate it by scalping some people for a great cause!

We are hosting a Headshaving Fundraiser for Cancer Awareness and Research this year. The event will take place at FedEx Field Green Lot E-43 in conjunction with the ExtremeSkins Tailgate and will run from 0930 - 1200. If there are more people who want to shave their heads for cancer after the game, I'll be more than happy to stick around and provide them with a nice clean shave ;)

Donations: There will be a couple different ways to donate. The easiest one is through the Fundraiser website: https://www.giveforward.com/fundraiser/8gr6/scalp-out-cancer-because-bald-is-beautiful
The other way to donate is by showing up to the event and making a cash donation. All money will be donated to the American Cancer Society. People who want to shave their heads can raise money through friends and family who want to see that person shave their head, so let's make this a competition. We will accept all accumulated donations at the tailgate and recognize the person who was able to raise the most. (Note: The only prize given will be a bald head, but knowing you are doing so for a great cause is much more of a prize that can ever be given)

Head Shavees: The only thing we need you to do is show up, sign a waiver, and get your head shave by our Master Army Barber, Michael Kennedy!!! If by chance there are any individuals who have hair they want to donate to Locks for Love, we can try to accommodate that request, but just remember, the hair must be 11 inches from the BASE OF THE PONYTAIL!!!

So come on out, enjoy a great event and tailgate, and together we can contribute to the eradication of a horrible disease that has gone without a cure for entirely too long!!!

One small request, if there is anyone out there that can make some shirts, or has any ideas on how to have shirts made for this events, for the head shavees to wear afterwards, please contact me! I already have an idea for a design, but need some help with this.

Don't forget MIA's drive for the American Cancer Society! Please donate at the link and post something here occasionally to bump this.

The impact on most, if not all of our lives is huge. For me personally, I've lost many to various forms of Cancer, the closest of which are my Dad, my Brother-in-Law, my Aunt and a good friend.

The head shaving will be a fun event for those of us who participate, and those who are there to laugh at us. The shaved head will also hopefully be a talking point going forward when we're asked why.

By the way, you don't even have to attend the game. Come out to the lot, enjoy the company and festivities and boycott the team if you see fit. Mike did not go into the stadium for the last game. Maybe stage a protest? "The play on the field has been offensive for years, and not in a good way!" Will that fit on a sign?

Nothing? Crickets ...

Was it something I said?

Anonymous, you out there somewhere?

Bueller? Bueller? Bueller? ...

Apparently a name change. Thread title modified.

Ok, modified within the thread, but the modification doesn't show up in the forum.

That shit is ridiculous. I wish I was able to be with the dead tree crew tomorrow when they meet the protesters head on.

**** the WaPo.

The most hilarious part of it is, scalping was real - it occurred. So while Native Americans might not like the imagery, it's part of history. And btw, please don't use the word 'slavery' here - because as a white guy, it makes me uncomfortable.

Whenever people talk about racism I always think of Steve Martin in the jerk before he kicks everyone's ass.

I will drink a beer in celebration the day that piece of steaming dog shit newspaper goes under. **** them and the people who are trying to protest this. Hail To The Redskins.
