2014 Official Game Day Thread: Redskins @ Giants

As for me and my family,we go to the church of Henry.

Preach it brother!

I know one thing, Santana had RG3's back today - even to the point of getting ejected.

And you want to know something else? Pierre Garcon had his QB's back too. If not for others holding him at arm's length from the refs, he would've been ejected too.

Yeah, I saw a team standing up strong for our QB late in the first half - and beyond.

Excuses are for losers

If we were a good team with players who fight hard we would have overcome it.

And I think you meant mic drop..unless you really think you can pick me up off the ground.

They way they explained the rule, I'm not sure if that was the right interpretation or not. If the same thing happened in the field of play, would it be considered a fumble? Or would he be considered down by contact when he hit the ground? I've seen so many plays this year they would not overturn because it was not obvious, but this one they overturn?

I think the other part of it for me is that it was interpreted by Jeff Triplette, who is the worse ref in football. He was the ref during last years Giants game where the Redskins got a first down, then the next play, it was 4th down because he overturned it the play after. There are some refs, when they go under the hood, you wonder what they will call despite the video.
Yeah, I don't know about a fumble in a field of play. Honestly, I don't know if I've ever seen something like that before and it might not be apples to apples. In regular field of play, if he landed out of bounds and lost it, the play ends there. In the end zone, they say a fumble changes possession. I really good there is a statement by the NFL.

As far as Triplett's crew, they are bad, but aren't replays now done in a New York office?

My understanding is that on a running play, as long as the player has control of the ball when the ball crosses the plane of the goal line, it is ruled a TD. What happens after that is pig snot!

Funny how it can be seen differently. I think it was pretty clear.

He did not have possession of the ball as he crossed the goal line. He regained control in the end zone, but did not maintain possession through the conclusion of the play.

If that is what the rule says, it was pretty clear that happened.

I assume this post was directed at me?

If so, I agree. The Redskins are losers. No qualifiaction necessary.

My post wasn't about that.

Oh, and don't correct me when I'm on a roll. :)

What happens after is irrelevant, he had the ball when he broke the plane, end of story.

If the ball crosses the goaline and he has possession it is a touchdown if he didn't fumbled before recovered in the end zone it is still a touchdown

wasn't it Triplett who said he didn't want to ref redskins games because he said the name was racist?

When you assume you make an ass...of yourself.

You can consider yourself served..

Alright, with a mind numbing 7 sacks could someone tell me who most, if not all of then were on?

Can TyPo be cause for any of them?

May change 'Operation Possum Smack' to 'Operation Porcupine Launch'.

I can't tell you who they were on, but I can say with certainty, that there was only one play where the QB had time to survey the field and throw. That play was a 15 yard completion to Roberts that her turned into a 60 yard gain. That was the only play where there was a nice pocket and time to throw. Every other play, whether it was Griffin or McCoy, the pocket either never formed or collapsed very quickly.

Gotcha, appreciate the info Kel. Sounds like all 5 had a part in it then.

Swear I want a bad ass safety with that 1st rounder but would be giddy if the 1st & 2nd went to O-linemen!

didnt get to catch the game today, had to work. Kept tabs on it with the sports center app on my phone. I was just watching the recap and took a couple of screen shots and we were clearly robbed here.

2 hands on the ball prior to crossing the plane, 2 hands on the ball after crossing the plane. Where the hell did they get that he didnt have control? Do they expect him to wrap his legs around the ****er too??

Er ... I made no assumptions. Hence the question mark.

Not sure what you're doing now so ... have a nice thread?
