Looks pretty clear and cut and dry.
Gus Frerotte has been the most successful QB that the Redskins drafted since they picked Stan Humphries in 1998, who went on to lead a team to the Super Bowl.

The only player that comes close is Jason Campbell. He may yet compile a better career than Gus, but it doesn't look likely, and Gus has the clear edge right now.

26 years, and the best that you can boast of, is the :wall:
Quite Telling.
Surprisingly, we've only drafted 13 QB's in 26 years.
You'd think the team would draft one more frequently than that, at least in late rounds, like for a developmental attempt. Especially as bad as we've been.
Maybe that's part of the problem. Not just the quality of scouting and drafting, but quantity of QB picks. We've almost always looked to Free Agents.

Here's the QB's and the years we drafted them since we took Stan in '88

2012 Robert Griffin
2012 Kirk Cousins
2008 Colt Brennan
2007 Jordan Palmer
2005 Jason Campbell
2003 Gibran Hamdan
2002 Patrick Ramsey
2001 Sage Rosenfels
2000 Todd Husak
1994 Heath Shuler
1994 Gus Frerotte
1992 Chris Hakel
1990 Cary Conklin
1988 Stan Humphries

Stan Humphries was easily the best QB on that list. It's not close. He did his best work by far in San Diego. Redskins letting him go was a big mistake.

Sage Rosenfels took the Dolphins to the playoffs.

Griffin had the best season as a Redskin. By far.

If we are talking about full careers in and out of Washington, I think you'd have to wait and see how the rest of Griffin's career plays out first, here or elsewhere. But just looking at the first three years in the league, I'd say Griffin has the edge. Their records are almost exactly the same. Griffin has more passing yards, more rushing yards, more TDs, fewer INTs ... though Griffin has been sacked a TON more.

But I get the point you are making. It's very depressing.

And to think Beathard hoodwinked Gibbs into trading Stan for a 4th round pick that ended up being wasted on a punter who was cut in training camp...
Over just the last 15 years we have used 6 1sts, 3 2nds, 2 3rds, 4 4ths, 2 6ths and 3 7ths on QBs (trades and drafts) and nothing to show for it. Must be a record.

Outside of Sammy Baugh the better Redskins qbs have always come through trades or from other teams as FA.

Sonny Jurgensen, Billy Kilmer, Joe Theismann, Doug Williams.

Mark Rypien had two excellent seasons for a team loaded with veterans. He was a #6 pick in 1986.

Jay Schroeder had a great regular season in 1986 throwing for a team record 4,000 yards after being a #3 pick.

But he was gone two and a half years later in a trade.

His breakout 1986 season reminds me of Griffin's 2012 rookie year.

He was another guy that seemed to have a hard time making himself like able in the locker room.

Rico...

This is sad. We've come to the point where we are debating if Gus Frerotte is the QB we drafted in past qtr century.

Gus was on the way to being pretty good until he smashed his own head against the wall against the Giants.

Could have closed the thread right here.
It's very depressing.
That was the only intention of the thread.

And BTW, Stan Humphries was a vagina. Was glad to see him go.

Stan was not a vagina in the least bit. He had a tough and good career.

I wasn't including RG3 in my assessment. Best season ever by a Redskins QB? No question. Best QB? TBD at best.

He rolled around on the ground screaming like a little girl every time the wind blew. Even in San Diego. You'd think he was gonna die 10 times a game the way he acted.

Vagina-like. Better?

Not even close. He was a very good qb no matter what you decide to call him. He led his team to the super bowl and played thru many injuries.

I actually watched him play and no matter how rude you are it won't make you right

Every player in the league plays through injuries. Most of them try to at least LOOK like tough guys.

Mr. Humphries never impressed me with his demeanor after contact.

Warmer?
Fuzzier?
