Elsewhere, namely the "Something Positive" thread I noted a stat in which the Redskins are doing better than everybody else-team average yards gained after a pass is caught.
In the interest of "fair and balanced reporting", I discovered one in which the opposite is true, unfortunately. It's called "Net Turnover Point Differential.
Here's the description given on the site.
"Net turnover points statistic measures the points a team generates off of takeaways including interceptions and fumbles less the points its opponents have generated off of interceptions thrown and fumbles lost.
Teams with high net turnover points are those who take advantage of turnovers by scoring points and preventing opponents from putting up points when turning over the ball."
First here's the top ten in positive points gained via turnovers.
Now, the bottom ten in terms of points given up via turnovers.
51 more points have been scored by Redskins opponents after getting possession of the ball via turnovers than we have scored via turnovers
The other key figure is the 9 points the Redskins have scored as a result of getting possession of the ball through a turnover. That is the lowest in the league by 5 points and way below most teams.
Just FYI, the Redskins are not doing very well, although not the absolute worst, in takeaway/giveaway ratio period. We're at -9, with only the Jets, Jags, and Raiders worse; each at -11.
