Random Commanders Thoughts

small man complex?

The fact that he is reduced to being a TV guy and lost his touch as a coach?

I am 100000% over Jon. He kisses every players ass and is just too much sunshine and lollipops in a gladiator sport.

Give Jay Gruden props. Any head coach that can beat the Cows is a keeper. He gets it.

Gruden has been looking to mimic Frank Gifford, the ultimate kiss ass in the MNF booth.

Agreed - never a bad time for cowgirl jokes!

Boom shakalaka!

Skins can win the next two. If they can fix their run blocking woes...dare I say...playoffs? Gotta get the Butler serving...

As we all revel in the huge victory, I look forward to the Minnesota game. This is a chance for us to be real...prove last night was no fluke.

We go into Minnesota against a poor Vikings team, but we've been here before and lost. We win against the Vikings, we're 4-5 going into the bye.

Then we come out of the bye against a hapless Buccaneers team. They are just bad.

We could end up going into San Fran at .500 after starting 1-5. Not sure how real we are, but we win the 2 we should to get to .500, there could be some fire in these guys...enough so to surprise the 49ers who are not as good as they have been over the past several seasons. Not sure how likely that is, but we can hope...right?

If we can be 5-6 at this point, I would be happy.

Indy is up next and could easily be another loss, they are a solid but inconsistent team. Probably 5-7 at this point.

Then we go up against the Rams...another bad team. 6-7?

Win outright from there against our 3 division foes?

When operating on 2.5 hours sleep after the game, I'm usually a wreck by noon.

But after last night, I'm still energized as of now.

(time to turn in)

Ok, let me say this. I can't even begin to express how elated I am that we beat Dallas IN Dallas with all their #1's on the field & our #3 QB & rookie CBs & a makeshift OL & defense that is still trying to find itself. Last night was a great start to an identity that, IMO if Haslett wants to stick around, needs to use that every week. They had Romo so confused for a good portion of the game & when it counted most. McCoy didn't look too bad either & they did what they had to to get the biggest win of the season. And no game this year will be any bigger. That is the most satisfying win we can ask for. Ever. Not even a win against them at home is as satisfying as beating them in Dallas.

With all that said, IMHO, this changes nothing. We still have a tough road ahead & a learning process to go thru. Gruden, from what I understand, went back & watched old rivalry games against them & made the rest of the team watch them as well to give those who are new to this rivalry an idea of what it means. To us. I think it showed. They played inspired last night. But, I don't honestly expect to see the same type of play out of them next week. I know, I should. But, I have been led astray so many times before, I just can't allow myself to be taken advantage of again. We have a BYE after the Vikes & I'm hoping that when we come back from that, Robert will be back & playing up to speed. But again, all I can do is be suspect of what is to come. This was one game. Just one. And it just isn't enough for people to be losing all sense of reality & believing that we could actually go to the playoffs this year. Even if that does happen, let's not get ahead of ourselves. Let's just be happy with this one win. Let's take it one week at a time. If we beat the Vikings, great. We'll exceed last year's win total. Let's be happy with that.

To be honest, if we don't win another game this season, I'm satisfied. Right now, I couldn't care less. We beat Dallas in Dallas for only the 2nd time since the Monday Night Miracle & shut those Bammas up, at least for a while. They have no excuses. They have nothing they can say is why they lost (like the refs-which, incidentally were on their side anyway), other than we beat them.

We beat Dallas.

I'm good.

Hail to the REDSKINS!

Gulf, i'm with you except I think this changes EVERYTHING based on what we do over the next 3 weeks. It's like poker. We just took a big pot, but if we hand it all back over the next couple hands, were back to square 1. We've all been wanting to improve these positions by addition...

Breeland and Amerson might have just showed that we can honestly improve the CB position by DEVELOPMENT. Something we've been lacking. The fact that our corners played that well against that good of an offense is a HUGE step in a direction that frankly, NOBODY saw coming week 5. Are they the answer? After 1 game I honestly cant say. What I can say is they are 1 for 1. They've shown the ability to play this game at a high level, and very effectively.

On top of that, Desean Jackson brings a level of intensity to compliment Garcon like I haven't seen on the offensive side of the ball in a while. He LOVES it when the lights are on. He's a game maker, game breaker, and absolute beast. I LOVED seeing him get in Carr's face, as well as anyone else who wanted to come up runnin their mouth. He took a penalty that offset the other TWO (explain that to me) but I am ok with it. It gets guys fired up. D Hall brought that but often times did it at costly moments. Jackson has a way of getting in guys heads and while he's 5'10 and 180, he doesn't care how big you are, he's out there to win. Garcon was a split second away from knocking that ball out of the defenders hands IN THE ENDZONE. It's an interception and he never gave up on the play. These guys got up BIG for the game last night and it shows me they believe.

As I digest the victory, I think about things that mean more then just a play execution. Things I haven't seen in a while that make me want to feel like we are headed in the right direction. Hell, Gruden showed video's of the Redskins vs Cowboys rivalry this week before practices.... SERIOUSLY? I thought that was something us fans did. That is AWESOME.. This is a rivalry and maybe it's a momentary flash of playing over our heads, but if Gruden can take what we did last night and build upon it... This team is absolutely headed in the right direction.

I don't agree with all your thoughts....great post just the same!

It's nice feeling upbeat with some real substance to the emotion!

Left the house at 7:45 this morning, cold called all day with a smile on my face. Got to my 6:30 presentation, feeling a bit tired but still happy overall. Then my smile got bigger and bigger as the people I presented to revealed themselves as Skins fans, as happy as I was all day, and commenced talking trash to the other people there who were Dallas fans.

Pretty effing funny, and a great way to end my day.

ok here we go... i'll bite, what dont you agree with

don't worry about it brotha! that was a terrific post. I agree on receivers. with-holding judgement on secondary though hoping like H you are right.

again.....loved the post!

Breeland showed up... the only meaningful catch Bryant had, he earned against Amerson and I'm not sure what else he could have done. Bryant just executed a better play then we did. Thats going to happen against a talent of that caliber. Breeland also defended 2 Td catches and a game saving out route, as well as ran Murray down from behind and forced a fumble to stop a TD drive... What more can the kid do to get a thumbs up?

breeland played a *ell of a game. we'll see what happens over time. he does appear to be a play-maker....which is something we need.

so our CBs have the potential to develop? My post made mention that the next 3 weeks are more important then the game last night. Building upon success is more important then showing a flash..

If we were in the NFC South we would be .5 games out of first
