I forgot one more example since I'm bored:
4. David Bowie named his son Zowie Bowie. I can't imagine the bullying he endured. As soon as he turned 18, he changed his name to Duncan Jones.
I think the most likely throwback we'll see is the spear helmet logo from 1965-69. They're clearly laying the groundwork for it now by gradually squeezing it back in, akin to boiling a frog in a pot.
The only pushback was by some of the folks who opposed the old name, but not nearly as many as...
Here's why they should change the name (and actually include the fans' input for real this time, unlike the last time when Snyder ran his sham "poll"):
1. Guns n' Roses used lyrics written by cult serial killer Charles Manson in the song 'Look At Your Game Girl.'
2. Devo used lyrics written by...
I think if the HOG thinks they can make more profit by renaming the team they will do so. Especially if they involve the fans in the choosing of the new name, which will increase fan happiness and lead to more profits, etc.
Yeah, I think if he couldn't change the name he would have said so too. I'm sure the other NFL owners have to agree with a proposed new name, otherwise this team would have changed to the Washington Slack-Jawed Yokels many years ago. :)
But I don't think changing the name again would be a bad...
He can absolutely change the name, owners are allowed to do that. Normally when it comes to logos/uniforms they have to wait five years, but that doesn't apply when a team is bought by a new owner. Remember he also said changing the uniforms wasn't a priority back in 2023-24...but now they have...
I'll bet my left testicle that the alt logo with the spear through it becomes the primary logo by 2027.
Commanders is a dumb name. If they're gonna lean on the spears and shields themes (which they clearly are), then Centurions would be a more appropriate (and way cooler) name. An added bonus...
Yep, the other NFL owners were willing to tolerate his buffoonery so long as it didn't impact how much money the team/league made. Once the revenue started dropping, they were on him like a pack of rabid hounds.
Under Snyder/Wright's mismanagement, it's stunning how many 'fails' this team had...
It's depressing how many 'competent' people in the world are actually incompetent. With Snyder, he himself was not only incompetent but he hired people who were also incompetent...none of whom ever told him he was wrong about anything EVER. Sycophants become sycophants because they have no other...
It's pretty sad that a guy who worked on cookie advertising did a better job figuring out what the uniforms should look like than all of the overpaid, overhyped design consultants working for Nike and others lurking around the sports leagues trying to make big money....not to mention doing a far...
Now that some sanity has been restored to the uniforms...when is the extradition paperwork for Tanya Snyder being filed for those abominations she 'created' back in 2022?
I WANT JUSTICE!!!
(Say...anyone hear how ol' Danny's attempts at buying an English soccer club have been going? He should...
What a loss...I used to work with Monte in the late 90s when he was the VP of Public Relations at an IT company in Reston. He treated everyone with respect, including peons like me. He knew everyone's name too.
A true class act, he will be sorely missed.
