Need to add at least two quality offensive lineman to this team via trade or cut downs, and I honestly don’t care what position they play. If they have a chance of beating out a starter, you need to acquire them. Worst case, they would be better than the backups we currently have.
Trading for a center should not cost too much draft capital. I’m guessing a 6th at worst for a decent Vet. I hear you though…any picks traded are nauseating. The Bills might be a good trade partner.
One injury away from the O line being a disaster, yet Taylor Decker is not in the plans. You could instantly improve the line with his signing at multiple spots. But alas, some team like the Rams will find a way to add good talent, while AP ponders. I think he gets in his own way sometimes. What...
Amik paused when asked about the secondary gelling (reporter’s word). His answer was not convincing. I think there is still much work to be done with this unit. Add the Amos injury to that equation and it’s a definite area of concern. JD has been carving up them up all camp. Yeah it’s JD, but...
Lots of info to unpack there.
1. Stevens 6/6 was especially nice to see given no competition.
2. Hope our stud DEs are ok.
3. I’m not sure Newton makes the team, it may be time to cut bait or trade him if possible.
4. Jerome Ford was not going to make the team anyway, as he did nothing to...
Seems like they did the right thing for Moody. Glad to have a kicker with a legit shot at making a 60 yarder. Any nicknames for this kid yet or too soon?
No timetable on Amos is a huge concern.
I don’t think McNichols makes the team now, given he will be out a few weeks. Younger guys will get a chance to shine in his place. Tough break.
Good news on Aalegretti, he really needs to get some reps with JD.
Barber and Cowart played better than Newton this week, so he is easily replaceable. He has very little value. Some team may take a shot, but won’t get much in return. We need him to flash during the next two games to have a chance of getting anything better than a late 7th round pick.
It doesn’t seem that AP is panicking about the O-line. I think it’s a serious concern. Allegretti has not played much, and there is virtually nothing behind him. Connerlly looked shaky against the lowly Dolphins, as well as the no-show run game. Our depth is being severely tested because of the...
I agree, the DEPTH also took a hit. I honestly don’t see a reason (other than money) not to bring in Decker. Doesn’t seem to be happening though by all accounts.
Starting caliber LTs (especially with familiarity in your system) don’t grow on trees. If they want him, it should happen very quickly. Once pre-season games start, injuries will more than likely increase across the league and then you might have competition for his services.
I hear you on Coleman. I like him and think he can do a decent job. In that vain, I like him way more than Wylie, so that is even more a reason for wanting Decker. If Wylie needs to start at any point, that is troublesome.
I’d sign Decker asap. We have the cap space, and Blough is familiar with him. Can’t have enough bodies to protect JD5. If Connerly or Coleman get injured, this line is cooked. Let’s keep our solid depth and insert Decker.
Maybe AP had a handshake agreement with Linderbaum before FA and the Raiders unexpectedly blew that up with a crazy offer. We’ll never know the behind the scenes thought process.
I think a 1yr $10-12M deal seems about right. We are one injury away from having a really bad WR corp. Maybe that is what Diggs is waiting for… to strengthen his leverage with AP. Plus, I’m sure he doesn’t mind missing a few weeks of camp at his age.
