    The other way to look at it is if Gulbin is the back up center it means he is active on game days which also would mean that if a guard goes down during the game he needs to be an option to step in at guard. Guessing they needed to give him reps at guard for just the reason?

    I don't think he survives on the practice squad. Would love to see him develop and take over foe Mariotta next year. Man roster cuts going to be tough.

    I doubt he envisioned 3 and out with JD having no time. Other than recognizing the OL needs work they gained nothing from trotting him out there.

    Im pretty confident that if the O line had not been crap JD 5 would have got more snaps. Much as I think he and the starters need more time there is no way you keep him in after that 1st series.

    Hard to even evaluate the back ups when you don't put guys out there that even look like they belong in the NFL and obviously don't get the practice reps to sync anything together.

    I can see center being a big issue this year. Wasn't great to begin with but early Alagretti injury hammers home the discussion about where the OL ranks. No matter where the tackles and guard ranks having big questions etc tanks whatever ranking the OL has as a unit. Many of us had concerns...
