2026 Commanders Training Camp

Well it's good that at least one of us is using a computer. I tried that but does nothing on my phone
It's always on my phone for me but thanks for the heads up that was my guess I just wasn't sure

I hope people appreciate what watching this guy coming in day 1, being the oldest WR in the room, the legacy player that has every reason to take it easy, and comes in with an effort level like this. It seriously can / should push all the guys not named Terry Mclaurin, to take their game to the next level. Not just in the WR room, but across the lineup. That’s Stefon Diggs, and he walked in (as far as we can see), not with the idea / mentality that we’re lucky to have him.. but instead… “im here to work, and I want to know what I personally can do to help the team win”

He looks great, hasn’t missed a beat from last year. His addition really helps a guy like Williams imo. Terry would have been a good mentor and taught him plenty but Diggs game is much more similar and transferable. Feel like he can really teach him a lot and man, no offense to Terry, but Diggs is on another level for what he’s seen in the league. No disrespect intended but it already feels like he’s the big brother in that room and it’s not awkward or anything. Just a natural leader.

I've repeated the story a few times, but Brian Mitchell once described coming in as a rookie and his mind was blown by how hard Art Monk was working and how hard Art Monk worked after practice. He saw that and thought, "If this guy is doing that much I better get my arse in gear." I don't know if Diggs is in the Art Monk conversation, but he's a very established, high profile vet. For the pups to see him get at it may trigger them to push harder. So far, many of our pups have experienced too many easy camps. I'm sure Bobby Wagner was a good role model on how to be a vet. Terry might have been in 2024, too, but it's good to see someone who made it work.

Semi-related: Last week when they brought Riggo in to the first fan practice, someone asked John if seeing the guys practice made him want to put the pads on again. Immediately, Santana, and Fred said, "no." John, at first, agreed, then thought about it and said, "I don't know. We might be able to do it. Compared to what we were asked to do these guys don't do dick." and then laughed over the practice only running 90 minutes. TBH, I was shocked when I went to a practice once just how easy it looked. Clearly, the players are better than I am, but I didn't come away blown away thinking, "I couldn't do that" or "I wouldn't survive that."

More from Josh Taylor

A. Luke definitley out performing the other WRs sans Terry

B. Doubled down on Sainristill struggiling

C. Croskey-Merritt catching the ball well

D. Newton hasn't popped like the other DTs, Omenihu has looked better than him

E. Practice much more intense-energetic than last year

F. Magee not popping much

Yeah its interesting, the national guys, at least most of them don't think much of this O line -- and think Allegretti is a big downgrade over Biadaz,
Allegretti 35 out of 35? oofff. That doesn't exactly give confidence now does it. I am going to give him the chance he deserves based on the confidence Blough and some of the players have voiced.

Tunsil has been working extra with Conerly and I imagine with Paul since he kind of vouched for him prior to him being resigned. They both are going to need to step it up or Coleman will be knocking

We keep getting mixed reviews of Mikey. Every time we get something good, the next thing isn't inspiring.

I love me some Omenihu, he is better than Newton!

We have a healthy Magee that needs to really show up. This scheme should suit him better. It wasn't that long ago we were thinking he was going to be the heir apparent to the green helmet...

Bill continues to shine and Luke really starting to as well, NICE!

Yeah Newton has been a huge disappointment. Reading about him when he was coming out of college people were talking about how he should have been a top 10-15 pick but dropped to us. What a steal in the 2nd round. He was the big 10 defensive player of the year.

2 years later he's likely behind 3-4 dudes in the rotation.

Digesting multiple podcasts and Logan.

Feels like camp as to highlights

Jayden on fire
Styles looks like a stud
Luke sort of the surprise breakout Wr
Luvu has somewhat remerged
Flores defense somewhat wicked -- Oweh, Chaisson, Joseph, etc look the part. Blitzes can come from everywhere
Not the most reasuring about the secondary -- hear almost nothing about Quan. Might be missing a true FS.
Croskey-Merritt perhap[s emerging in the passing game
Yankoff has some buzz. it started with Sinnott but got quiet about him, seem to hear more about Yankoff.
Somewhat quiet about Chenal.

Hopefully Tunsil is ok

I'd hate to see Quinn get scared again and do what they did last year.

I never thought that Biadaz was all that and a bag of chips. Serviceable? Sure, but not a plus player.

I don’t think characterizing Allegretti as a ‘big downgrade’ is an accurate portrayal.

Diggs has great hands, just beautiful to watch. Compared to D. Brown there is a night and day difference in the hands department. He never double catches.

He's been a meh guard, mostly career backup, and played IMO poorly at guard last year so the idea that he emerges as a decent center in theory seems a stretch on paper.

But I'll give them the benefit of the doubt if they think he's a decent center. I got no idea. But I get why national outfits don't think so. Will see. Supposedly he's a great communicator and Biadaz was not.

Yeah its interesting, the national guys, at least most of them don't think much of this O line -- and think Allegretti is a big downgrade over Biadaz,

FWIW, Thorn ranked us 11th league wide, near the top of his tier 3 for offensive lines. Here’s his write up on our group. Solid ranking overall.

Tier 3: Solid units with credible paths to above-average play, but enough weak-link, health, or projection risk to limit confidence.

Unit Profile: Elite LT and high-end RG anchors give the line real top-end value, but C/LG and young RT projection create volatility.

Notes: Washington’s line is built primarily around two special talents in left tackle Laremy Tunsil and the more underrated Sam Cosmi at right guard. Tunsil is coming off the most complete season of his career, with his rare one-on-one pass-protection value opening up the playbook for a play-caller in a way few tackles can match. Cosmi has battled injuries recently, which limited him to nine starts last season and quieted the rise that began during the second half of 2023, but when available, he remains one of the league’s most toolsy, impactful pass-protecting guards. Both bring run-game value as well. Around them, there is more variance, but not without upside. Chris Paul was not sought after in free agency this offseason, but his 2025 film showed linear explosive power, pocket-clearing force, and the ability to uproot down linemen at a high enough level to mitigate shaky sustain skills. Josh Conerly Jr. also showed enough positives as a young rookie (turns 23 in November) to point toward attainable upside with added experience. Nick Allegretti takes over at the pivot as a scrappy stopgap replacement for Tyler Biadasz and profiles as a serviceable starter. Washington is also slated to usher in a more under-center, play-action-based system under new offensive coordinator David Blough, which should provide better guardrails for the line.

The offensive line isn't very good. I've been saying it all offseason. Cosmi is good, nothing more, and the RT is still unproven. I have no idea how they expect our interior OL to run on the Eagles front. On top of that Allegretti is missing valuable reps at a new position.
