Generally agree with your wider post, although interestingly Peters did say they felt Tate at 4 was very much a possibility.
 
Not to muddy the waters, and I’m not exactly sure why we are talking about Magee vs Wagner so much in the FA thread, but Wagner was also going for the all time tackle record. So, you have a HOF player, still playing at a higher level than the 5th round draft pick, playing for the coach that loves and originally developed him, shooting for an all time record. And the coach was also still trying to win games.

I’d like to see Wagner get that record this year. He only needs 60 tackles. I hope he catches on somewhere. I honestly wouldn’t mind him here in a backup role. He’d be a great short yardage or goal line guy.
 
Chargers signed TE David Njoku, formerly of the Browns, to a one-year contract.

I thought he'd have signed someplace right after the draft.

Probably see a few more FA signings with OTA's on the horizon

I think Orakpo was underrated by us. He was about a ten-sack guy as I recall who was weak against the run. If Oweh averages double digit sacks but can also play the run I'll be more than happy.

Orkapo was good, felt like he disappeared in high stakes games though.
 
Harbaugh seems to think that God is a Giants fan, no surprise. Tough for me to figure out who to root for in this one. Makes me think Washington opens with Philly.

The Giants crushed our cap space. I will forever rejoice in crushing the Giants' spirit. I want Dallas to give them a reality check that they are indeed still the Giants. I don't like the Cowboys, but I view them as annoying little brothers. Eagles are 1a(1) on my hate list, Giants are 1a(2) on my hate list. I'd probably hate the Giants more than the Eagles if they were as desperate to make a celebrity out of their security guard.

Yeah I actually hate the Giants the most in the division, but I think Dallas is the bigger threat. So I wrestle on this one.

But lol of course they got the SNF game. I bet they get more prime time games than this team does. They are sort of the hyped upstart team in the division this year the way Washington was hyped in 2025 -- and lol, hopefully they crash like Washington did under that weight.

Washington at least earned the 2025 off season hype. With the Giants, its all theory, its Harbaugh mania, the idea that they killed the off season, etc -- the BR article about Washington being a pretender this year and the Giants are the true contender. Gag.
 
Thread discipline. Not only does the Giants opening game have nothing to do with Commanders' free agency the Giants overall prospects have even less to do with the topic of free agency.

Yeah I struggle with that too. At the end of the day, I hate the Giants the most so want them to lose. Of course I really just want the two teams to beat the crap out of each other and tie.
 
Hamilton is not exactly an exciting signing. I hope they don't think the defensive backfield is now compete

I don't know. He kept making plays last year. Felt like the only player whose name kept popping up for positive reasons. Maybe just a depth signing, but it's a good depth signing.

True and not just for Quan; there were so many plays last season where multiple players in the secondary didn’t seem to know who to cover or how to. From here it looked like they had made a fell decision on where to place their thumbs, but that’s just me. I blamed coaching as much as the personnel.

We have frequently heard that Quan has the athletic talent, but so far he has not shown he can do well in the recognition and reaction mental aspect of the game at this level. Maybe a new coordinator who’s good at teaching and with a better scheme will make them all a lot less dimWhitted.

Still need more depth at corner though.

Did he? I wonder if I just blanked it out because the second half of the season was such a march to doom.
