Random Commanders Thoughts

Jersey numbers are subject to change leading up to roster cutdown following training camp.
  • LB Sonny Styles: 52
  • WR Antonio Williams: 14
  • OLB Joshua Josephs: 48
  • RB Kaytron Allen: 31
  • C Matt Gulbin: 66
  • QB Athan Kaliakmanis: 16

Joshua Josephs is the only player who doesn't have a number from the old traditional numbering system. Guess I'll irrationally dislike him now.

Josephs choosing 48 explains so much. Makes me feel better about him.

His sack numbers are actually damn impressive for a running back.

I am of the thought that 66 still belongs to Big Joe

Agreed…66 should be a retired number, not given to a 6th round draft pick

It could be, but they have given it out to different players since then. The last one I remember to wear it was Derrick Dockery before, during, and after Gibbs II.

Side not, Derrick Dockery works for the American TikTok now. :topsy-turvy:

I could easily be wrong on any of these,, but maybe it has to do with one or more of these reasons :

* jersey numbers given out at this time are often temporary, just for Training Camp and can change for the regular season.

* there becomes a shortage of jersey numbers at the start of training camp, due to the surplus of players trying out ; such a shortage, that they use duplicate numbers for some players

* fact that he's a 6th Round Pick and may not make the team

C Matt Gulbin: 66

Gulbin does have a lot to live up to, wearing that number.

I'm less concerned with someone wearing Jacoby's number than the fact that he's not in the HOF. He needs to be in the HOF!

I'll add to that list of Thanks, a Big Thanks to his sister, since she helped make it all possible by letting him sleep on her sofa when he was jobless ;)

Pretty wild to be at the advantaged end of this list. We were likely an even worse team than the 5-win dumpster fire we turned out to be, in reality

Good for Heinike. He milked as much out of the NFL and his abilities as he could. Great story.

Kind of funny seeing a player who was never on the team when we were the Redskins saying Go Skins for his retirement message. Might have been confusing saying "Go Team" though
