How do you feel about the Commanders Brand 2.0?

  • Vastly improved, if this is THE brand moving forward I’m satisfied.

  • I like the direction, but I still feel more to do. I will/have specified in thread.

  • I don’t like this new direction. I didn’t like the old either. They can’t make this work for me.

They should have just let AI make the logo as this is trash. Whoever made and approved it should be ashamed. This is high school design quality at best.

Glad the Stanford/Phoenix Cardinal look is gone. They got the pants and jerseys right, but logo still needs some work.

Three new Uniforms: VOR analysis:

I love this and want them to be the home uniforms. I don't think they've said how they are going to use the different unis, but under Gibbs, we wore white at home. I grew up with the team wearing the white jerseys in all but 2 games a year: At Dallas, at NYG, because both of those teams wore white at home at the time.

I think these are slick, updated but retro. I don't love the W, but I never have, but I can live with it.

As the Burgundy jersy, I think these are really good. I hope they burn the yellow pants. They aren't gold. They are yellow. Even if it's just as an F-U to Bruce Allen, who loved the damn yellow pants. I legit think they make the team look slower.

Let's start with the helmet: I like the stripes. I don't care for the spear through the W. I actually don't mind the spear in general, I would have just gone with the spear and called it a day. I like they removed the W from the front of the helmet because that looked stupid.

The rest of the uniform, I like. I was the odd outlier who didn't mind or liked the old black uniforms. These are better.

Overall, they get a B+ from me. I think if they had just used the spear instead of the W across the board, I would have liked that more.

A+ would have been saying FU to everybody and bringing back the old logo. I didn't think that was going to happen. I'm SLIGHTLY surprised it didn't happen on the alternate uniform.

Maybe there is a throwback they do in the next couple of years where they run it out there. We'll see. I am sure they WANT to do that. The question will be, can they?

** If they do get to use a throwback uniform, and they play in the playoffs/SB, they should wear the throwback with the old logo, and then watch the media ABSOLUTELY MELT DOWN. That won't (and maybe can't) happen but it would be amazing.
 
I love this! The old Redskins uniforms with the new logo was always the right move. They got the colors, stripes, font, glossy helmet, gold facemask, etc. exactly right. I also like that they included gold pants as an option.

I never liked the black uniforms, but these are a big improvement. They look more like our team than the Steelers now.

I do have a question, I thought they needed to have black on one of their primary uniforms to have a black alternate, which is part of why we had the horrible temu-Cardinals-Falcons jersey, was that just false?

Yeah, thats the thing about wearing white at home. We would end up using the burgundy jerseys only two or three times a year.
I just don't think they'll do that, but who knows ?
 
The spear is awesome! People hating on it are tripping. It is a great way to connect our past and future. The complaints seem to be that it doesn’t fit our brand or there is something off about the way it intersects the W. Both of these are unfounded.

The spear is a weapon used by all cultures, so it fits any military theme, that includes both Native Americans and Greco Romans, so it works fine with both our old and new brand.

The way it intersects the W is also fine if you see it as what it is, a 2D stenciled font. The people who are bothered are imaging the W logo as a taco holder, which it isn’t.

Anyway, I hope the complaints don’t convince them to stop using the spear in branding, I really like it.

Pretty much what we were expecting. I like them. Especially the black. Feels blasphemous to say it, but I like the black one the best. Maybe we should make it the standard uni. I know black is not historically our color, but you can say the same thing about the current name.
One question, though… So, where is the surprise up the sleeve we were promised???

The spear itself is fine. I do not like the implementation of it.

I have less of an issue with that, given it’s an alternate, than I do that we didn’t outline the damn W in white on the main helmets
 
For all those eager to part with your dollars, everything new is available for sale on the team store now.
 
I will be blunt and say the way they implemented the spear is not the way I would have done it or prefer. I do think it looks better on the black uniform helmet that it did on that sweatshirt for certain. I think once I get past the slight disappointment of it not just being a spear on its own. I will grow to like that logo.

I look at it like this, as I said in my last post…if my only gripe is the spear going through the W at this point, that’s pretty well a successful rollout. The amount of improvement that has been made to the black uniform cannot be understated.

I agree the spear could have been better implemented. A spear without the W, or crisscrossed spears behind a shield, or even a better arrowhead would have been cool.

That said, I think the complaint about how it intersects is silly, and I worry people will complain so much they will just drop the spear from the branding altogether, which would be a bummer.

Good catch, that is an improvement or nod to the past. I am not sure I even liked when it was just Washington across the front.

I thought they might try and work the stars and bars from the DC flag into it though, as that seems to fit a Commander more than a spear. Again, maybe small moves, would be against bridging the past, but thought they might work it in somewhere or somehow. Although, it might be considered sacrilege to some to have stars anywhere on the helmet.
