Big FU to Aiyuk.
I thought the same thing… SF making it hard on him to get on another team… goes to show you screw with class organizations they will get you back… wouldn’t be surprised if that don’t drag him being released till the latest possible even if it means deep into training camp… if for anything to hamper his catching on with a new team and being in shape

For Aiyuk's case.... Meh. Sucks for us, but they are doing what some of us criticized the Commies for not doing: Exhausting all possible outlets to acquire compensation. If a team gets desperate and needs a WR, maybe they take a chance. Slim chance, but the 49ers have nothing to lose. Aiyuk can pound sand.

If this were, say, Kittle, they would have released him already. They are sticking it to him unnecessarily and the team and league sees this.

This is exactly what I was talking about in my previous post. The 49ers are going to try and save face by trading him for a late pick and they won’t do it until April IMO.

I AM GLAD. THIS MEANS WASHINGTON WILL BE LOOKING ELSEWHERE 😎

Doesn’t Dallas usually go after the fallen angels?

No one is trading for him.

1) A team is not paying him $20M+ in base salary next year. Aiyuk is certainly not restructuring.

2) Seeing his actions, low chance he reports if a team other than us decides to trade for him.

I’m not sure what narratives you’re trying to drive. It’s not that he didn’t rehab, it’s that he chose to do it away from team. It’s not unheard of for players to choose to rehab on their own. Dez Bryant and TJ watt come to mind.
If you don’t trust that he rehabbed properly that’s one thing… but that’s a pretty easy thing to test. I tend to think med staff here are not morons.
The trouble is that he didn't just refuse to rehab with the team. He also refused to interact with the team. The Commies medical staff can say whether he's healthy now, but I wouldn't expect them to be able to guarantee that he won't re-injure himself and repeat the whole mess over again while blaming the team staff.

For cheap, sure, sign him. But again, I wouldn't rely on him for anything except a pleasant surprise. If the offense falls on is shoulders, I have no faith in him to quietly shoulder the load like Deebo did.

They are sticking it to him. It’s obvious. Shows me it wasn’t all Aiyuk when it came to that relationship breaking down
I'm not sure that's fair. They have every reason to be pissed. They signed the guy to a massive deal and got nothing out of him since. And of course he went AWOL which is unacceptable. They have every reason to stick it to him which is what I believe they are doing.

SF is not a classy organization. We are a classy organization. Below is what a classy organization does.

We could’ve controlled CRod on the RFA tender and probably let him know he was competing for a job in camp and to shop to see what else was out there and his agent found him a very good life changing deal

Good for CROD, he deserves it.

The problem with the 49ers claim that they want to hold onto Aiyuk in case they can get a trade is that I doubt anyone wants to pay him what he's owed on that contract. So, I wouldn't even offer a conditional seventh. At this point, Aiyuk is a high risk commodity.

Now, I could offer the 49ers a conditional seventh if they agree to swallow almost all of his salary for this year. Otherwise, it's just not going to happen which is probably the point. They want to do him dirty. Sort of the opposite of what we did with Biadazz.

What benefit accrues to the team now for sticking it to him? By your logic, we can justify what Bruce and Dan did with Trent in 2019

I'm simply saying Aiyuk totally screwed the Niners. Being paid millions of dollars and then going AWOL is a cardinal sin. So why would they do him a favor? They aren't the bad guys here.

With that said I welcome him here, on a 1 year prove it deal. That would be a great move but I don't blame the Niners one bit.

That's all true... but I have to assume they did something that really pissed off Aiyuk. Remember the Trent Williams in DC tantrum? The team really didn't do anything to him, but he threw a tantrum an got himself traded. All reports are that he's been a great teammate in SF. S*** happens... I'm still willing to take a flyer on the guy!

edit: I know you are just explaining why they did it :)

I'm really happy for him. He went from being on the bubble as a rookie to being financially set for life. But I sure don't understand that contract. There are 50 guys like C Rod out there, so easy to find.

That’s not true. I don’t have it on front of me but he is a highly effective runner on a down to down basis. He’s averaged 4.6 ypc without the home run type of runs inflating this number

He also lacks as a pass catcher but he certainly checks the box as a rusher and pass protector

That's why I posted his highlights on the previous page and said that he looks like Downs to me so I don't see us drafting him. It's Love, Tate, Delane, and still possibly edge
I have to get to watching Cross.

As for Downs he can do it all. including playng free safety. I don't put him in a box. With Flores scheme the way I understand if I am right, the safeties interchange. 2 deep and then one, it changes which one, sometimes charges closer to the box.

No, they know Washington is looking to pick him up and they are trying to **** with us to get us to give them a #6 or # pick to make this look a bit better for them.

I say ***** them, let's go out and get a guy who isn't compromised in this way as we have done at other positions and move on.

Lynch can play his ***** games with someone else.

It’s really not a big deal if they want to play hardball about it, we can wait. Any Aiyuk addition is on top of anything else we do. No one is taking on that contract so it’s not out of hope for a trade imo. We’ll just wait and get him cheap, whenever that is. Even if it’s after June 1st.
