The 2026 Free Agency Thread

Crosby's situation doesn't affect Linderbaum. Raiders have plenty of cap space, even with losing the $30M they gained by trading Crosby. I guess they can technically back out of the Linderbaum deal, but I kind of doubt that happens.
I also forgot they restructured and dealt geno.

Just count ourselves fortunate that we in fact acted to sign Oweh yesterday because he is a player the Ravens might have looked to bring back on the edge at age 27.
Why would they pay a guy 100 million dollars that they traded 5 months ago for peanuts?

I would think if they thought that much of him they would have kept him on their roster.

Jayden has to be thinking

Hopefully he’s thinking about bouncing back from his horrible sophomore campaign instead of preemptively making excuses for why next year will suck too.

Teams bring back players all the time.

We saw New England and KC invite guys back after they left in free agency or via trade.

It's all situational based on what the need is.

I didn't say the Ravens were guaranteed to be after Oweh but given that Hendrickson is really the only major name left on the FA market at edge and he supposedly wants $35M AAV, I thought that Oweh COULD be a guy they look at.

This isn't like the Ravens.

Usually they have their **** together and it's the other team that has these issues.

Well, we will see in 2026 what the team can do without Harbaugh at the helm.

Maybe he was more integral to the decision-making than previously thought.

Am I missing something or is his production comparable to Deebo’s? Maybe he gets more touchdowns?
Jennings is an outside receiver while Deebo is a guy that is more comfortable running underneath routes from slot and from being in motion (49ers portion of career).

When Terry went down last year we really didn't have a veteran outside receiver that could run the 15-20 yard outs and intermediates that he did.

At this point of his career Deebo can still be effective but he is more like a glorified tight end/possession receiver who operates in that 5-15 yard area.

I will add that it is not captured in the numbers but Jennings is considered the best blocking receiver in the NFL and is a guy that gets underneath opponents' skin. Think an offensive version of Frankie Luvu who the rest of the league views as a dirty player. You need guys like this. I will add that Jennings can also operate out of the slot as a big slot. What his game lacks is the explosive element.

Finally, he was the 9ers defacto #1 WR in 2024 with Aiyuk's season ending injury, Deebo being in and out of the lineup and Pearsall getting shot. Had he not gotten himself thrown out of the season finale that year, he would have ended up with 1K yards.

If we can get him for < $20M AAV, we should be very happy. Better value than Pierce and a more complete receiver than Doubs and Shaheed.

I doubt the geezers are coming back.

The one veteran I could see returning is Deebo as the #3/hybrid but it's going to have to be a much lower AAV than he went into free agency thinking he was going to get.

I would bring him back. He had 70 catches last year and kept it positive despite everything falling apart around him.

Lets make him the TE we need

We need to prioritize a guy that can fill in for Terry if push comes to shove.... Deebo isn't that guy. Now if you want to sign both (and Aiyuk) - we'll be the 49ers East... could be kinda funny.
