Listening to the callers for talk radio, lol, apparently the window is closed after 3 hours during day 1 in the tampering period.

Feels silly to me. If we are talking like this even tomorrow at 3 pm I get it. But heck we know they shot hard at 2 players who got 27-30 million and were willing to outbid the Colts. If anything that feels a bit reckless. But zero signs that they are being cheap thus far.

Armstrong will be back too. And our run defense really tanked after he got hurt last year.

You aren't going to win with these players over time. They are far too inconsistent year to year and from injury to injury. This guy goes what 264? That's a bit small to be a hand in the dirt front four player but he's not fast enough to play standing up.

One reason Dallas was willing to let him go.

Probably Tate or Styles. Was watching the old PFF, Sam Monson and Steve P. talk about rebuilding the Washington roster, they thought them taking Love would be insane. lol, I disagree with them but am not married to taking Love.

What happens in Fa though likely helps tell the story as to who takes him.

Whats wild is I would probably be against Love at 5. But at 7 I am fine with it. Especially in this draft where the top end talent is lacking at best.

Much has been written recently about the Chiefs developing CBs with Spags, and then trading them for high value. It is one of the revolving doors that keeps them able to refuel and retool. It's why you absolutely need good coaching to be a dynasty, more than you need good players. You need to develop players and then manage them as assets - picking who you keep and who you trade, picking the timing.. carefully. Then you can develop a dynasty.

This is unfortunately very unlikely to happen with DQ at the helm, from what we've seen. Just looking at what we've all seen happen.

This is the thing I always think about the Chiefs, and Mahomes. They set the NFL record with teams scoring under 28 for like 3 years straight vs them. Mahomes is amazing, but if you could guarantee under 28 then Allen would look like the Goat too. Buffalo had horrible playoff defenses and is probably why the Bills now have a new HC.

Absolutely. And the fact that they toyed with paying insane money for a center and a WR -- doesn't give early vibes that the plan is to be cheap. Maybe it ends up that way but for the moment I take everything I've heard so far that they will indeed be aggressive.

Negotiations aren't always super quick and sometimes its the players side that drags it out.

Not at all. We could have offered $10-15M less in guarantees, there’s no way to know.

I’m not saying that happened, I’m simply saying that’s the only money in the contract that actually matters, and we don’t have that information.

I’d also say a marginal difference in AAV isn’t that much of incentive to many players who are largely settled where they are. You need to go all in over the top. See LV with Linderbaum.

They preach competition. Why not have those 2 battle it out. Then we have a starter and a decent backup.

That's not true. Allegretti played OG for the Chiefs in their Super Bowl year and indeed in the postseason run where he gained notoriety before becoming a free agent.

Andy Reid never played him at OC during the regular season in KC.
