As others have also pointed out WR is code red this offseason both in free agency and draft. TM returns or not, it doesn't diminish the need. Interested to see what Deebo does this year and if we bring him back, but again WR is a must no matter what.

Yeah I didn't love the NE reporters who came off giddy about how NE looked in the joint practices against Washington. And apparently the opposite happened with them and Minny just now.

Ill bet the giants message boards are having a field day reading all the posts about how we think they're gonna roll us.

I don't think they will roll us. But I can see the Giants winning.

I admit though much of that on my end isn't about hearing about how they look at times "meh" at camp -- but about starters getting little preseason reps juxtaposed to the Giants.

Part of it is also I went to the opener against Tampa and they looked flatter than a pancake in that one.

I am always nervous going into a season opener because you literally have no idea what's going to happen. Good teams stink, bad teams look great, who knows.

In 2003, the Patriots traded Drew Bledsoe to the Bills and lost 31-0 in the opener. Brady went 14-28 for 123 yards and 4 INTs, no TDs. NOTE: Brady wasn't Brady yet. They won the SB in 2001, finished 9-7 missing the playoffs in 2002.
On February 1st 2004 they beat the Panthers and won the Superbowl, and the rest is history.

It's impossible to predict what's going to happen in week 1. And week 1 is almost never an indication of what is going to happen the rest of the season.

Remarkably the Patriots closed the regular season with a revenge 31-0 victory over the Bills. I wonder how many times in NFL history have teams have flipped scores over two meetings in a season?

What I'm noticing about guys like Medrano, JCM, even 2nd yr guys like JD5, and Sainristil, is that they love the game of football, as they've stated!!

I know some guys end being jags and just collect a a game check. But the guys that have an actual love for the game, stand out on Sundays! Hail!!

That is a thing that can be looked up. I asked AI, and it said the Pats vs. Bills is the only example of it in NFL History. Which I find unlikely. But I don't have time to probe it deeper.

I think the Giants are going to be good. Like sniffing playoffs good, so I could see them winning week one, but I don't think they will. I think they're clearly better than the cowboys in a division that could replicate the NFCN last year.

But Dak Prescott told Stan Kroenke he would see them in the NFC Championship game after the the Rams vs. Cowboys preseason game.

Are you calling Dak a dirty liar?

"The most telling moment came after the final whistle. As players and staff exchanged handshakes, Dak Prescott, who did not play as he continued his recovery from last year’s season-ending hamstring tear. Prescott lingered on the field with Rams owner Stan Kroenke. In a brief but bold exchange, Prescott told him, “We will meet you in the NFC Championship.”"

I had just conceded this was the Cowboys year...

Their defense is loaded. Wrs better than ours. Rbs likely better, too.

QB and o line i think limit them but wouldn't be surprised if they are 8-9, 9-8 range. I'd guess though 6-7 wins because their schedule is insane.

But game 1 worries me. Their D line might be the best in the NFL. i know some like to say well our d line was supposed to be loaded too and look what happened to us. But its different. Dexter Lawrence is for real who we dreamt Allen or Payne to be. B. Burns > M. Sweat. Abdul Carter is supposedly killing in practice and Parsons thinks he's a better player than he is.

Their LBs are really good. And they've upgraded their secondary.

Nabers is for real the superstar than Terry falsely sees in himself

Let’s see what happens at the quarterback position in NY before anticipating their progression.

The two veterans are aging retreads at this point.

I would start Dart but as a rookie you can never bet on what he can deliver u til you see it.

The QB is their weakness. But that same QB beat us last year. And was a 2 pointer away from doing it the season before.

Why is nobody talking about Brandon Coleman's injury? He is changing positions, we don't even know if he can play guard and is already penciled in as the starting LG yet he is not practicing or playing. There doesn't even seem to be any updates. Just who is starting at LG in week 1 against a DL like the New York Giants?

My guess would be Wiley at guard and Connerly at RT

Michael Deiter is still our backup center. Michael Deiter sucks. The retirement of Hreberg or whatever his name was really hurt their depth. Connerly has not locked down the RT position and we don't know how well Wylie can play LG. We are one injury away from taking on a DL like the Giants with Wylie at LG when we've never seen him play LG, Deiter at center, Allegretti at RG and a rookie at a new positions who may not be ready at RT.

Suddenly I became very concerned about the OL.

Anything I'm seeing about Coleman's injury is from August 4, which is two weeks ago at this point. I would guess that they are not that concerned and are just having him sit out as a precaution. You would think that his injury would be talked about by the John Keims of the world if it were something to worry about.

It makes zero sense for a 2nd year player who is changing positions to be missing valuable reps and developmental time for 2 weeks unless the injury is significant. He needs to be playing in the preseason. But you are right, any news is 2 weeks old and that makes zero sense to me as this injury and the lack of the ability to develop a young player who is projected to be a starter is pretty big news.
