36 Unique Universities - Ohio State Leads with 8 players selected - No surprise there. What is a surprise, at least to me, 2nd place goes to Ole Miss with 6! Mich and TX each have 5 to round out the top 4.

At 39 picks per day, we should be done sometime Wednesday. Thursday or Friday should be no problem if we just keep it up. For some reason, every year, we hit a lull in the late 4th to early 6th. Maybe we can avoid that this time. Good job everyone keeping up. 6.5 days to complete this thing would be a record, a good record. And you guys are making some great picks.

Hope the new guys are having a good time. I always look forward to this draft. During the mini me days, it was the best time of the year.

Overview​

Compact back with good instincts and run-after-contact ability that propelled him to stardom in his lone season as a starter. Sampson separates himself from other backs in the class with an impressive feel for timing, spacing and blocking scheme. He sees lane development in real time and is disciplined to stay on the designed track, but he can flip a switch and improvise when traffic mounts. He can wiggle around tacklers or break free from their grasps. Ball security and pass protection improvement will be early priorities for his next coaching staff. Sampson plays with the instincts of a seasoned veteran and has the talent to build on what he started in 2024.

Strengths​

  • Good one-cut and jump-cut talent to get the run rolling.
  • Presses the line and cuts it tight off the blocker's hip.
  • Understands blocking scheme and feels run-lane development.
  • Instinctive inside runner with subtle cuts to avoid the heat.
  • Respects the run track but can bounce it wide if needed.
  • Excellent burst and speed to run outside or hit chunk plays.
  • Uses a “Madden spin” and lower-body power to shake off tacklers.
  • Efficient short-yardage back with a nose for the paint.

Can a staff member please update OP to reflect the trade between broncos-chargers on the 1st. Picks 125 and 158 should be changed to Broncos. Thank you!

I didn't see that as a reach. One thing you learn - or at least I have - doing this exercise, is that people say, well they took XXXX at 18, they could have had him at 34. Well, if I don't have a pick at 34 and that's my guy, you have to take him. I don;t see that as a reach. Taking a guy 2 rds early, yea that's a reach LOL

Oh and the famous - well they should have traded back!! What if no one wants to trade back? You cant make them LOL And if you trade back and get garbage, have you really helped your team? No, you take the guy you want when you think it's best to take him. The whole thing is a crap shoot to a certain point. That's what's fun about it! You have really no idea how it's actually going to turn out.
