Use this thread for general league news and thoughts that are not random. As an example-

Oh goody, private equity in football, it's not as if they've ruined any iconic American products throughout the years.

Can't wait to see what happens when the most profit thirsty corporation in America teams up with the.most profit thirsty entity on planet earth.

Kirk's bank account doesn't care one way or the other. He's still getting most of that money no matter who starts.

Radio guys have been having fits since Monday afternoon.
Apparently, Kirk's weekly game check is $2.5M (they said it, so I guess they did the math), and as of Monday, hadn't thrown a TD pass since sometime in early November. "He ain't earnin' it!!!" :ROFLMAO:

Falcons and their fans melting down...I like that. :devilish:

The bitch of it was that I thought bringing him in was a good move on the part of the Falcons.

Granted, they over paid but then we over paid him and so did Minnesota but that is the nature of the position.

And that's mostly what they're bitching about, the "gazillion-dollar albatross they're stuck with sitting on the bench".
I tried to tell everyone, "Kirk gonna Kirk, just wait", but I guess you can see how that went over.

I think they are only stuck with him for next year. It's not as ridiculous as the Watson LOL contract.

The report I saw was that they're not even stuck with him next year.
They made the contract tradeable for a reasonable salary if they take on some of the salary but with his performance nobody may want him at all and in that case I believe they can dump him because they have a rookie quarterback.

I have a feeling they planned for this contingency for this very reason.
Whoever signs darnold this offseason is almost certain to do the same thing.

Cousins contract is tradeable but he has reserved the right to agree to the destination.

I think the wildest thing about Cousins is that the Minnesota Vikings got him because they had reached the NFC Championship and thought he was the missing piece and the Atlanta Falcons got him because they thought he was the missing piece. I think you can argue argue that the Vikings suceeded more before he signed and after he left. Last year the Falcons had seven wins and right now they are 7-7, but clearly the team thinks they are better without him.

Statistically, Kirk is a good QB over his career, but for some reason his teams are better off without him (with the notable exception of us :( ) Then again, even with the Redskins, you can argue the team did better with Alex Smith even though no one would ever say Smith was the superior QB.

The key element of our culture will be getting Daniels to sign long term for 1 Mill per year. No more, no less.

You couldn't get Chase Daniel for a mil a year though. :p

By the time Daniels is up for a contact he's going to be looking at 80M a year, or more. It's ridiculous. In 2016 when we were all talking what Cousins was worth the highest paid QBs were getting around 20-24M a year.
