I’m assuming that lower SOS is better for draft position, right?

That is correct. Lower SOS gets a higher picks since in theory, they should have done better with a weaker schedule.

Ending up with something like the 9th overall would feel like a final middle finger from the Snyder Era.

How in the hell is this the practice field of an NFL franchise?

Om pointed it out a few weeks ago when we mentioned Hard Knocks on the podcast.. the stark comparison of their facility to ours is jarring.




Then you hear their coach talk about things like this....




Looking at these two tweets, its glaringly clear about the differences between a team with 4 wins, and a team with 4 losses.

Grass types and weather are significantly different between the DMV and S. Florida. Aren’t there grass types that go dormant there in the winter? There is really no winter here. Temps are in the mid 70s. Though we are out of the prime growing rainy and humid season, my grass is still growing like weeds. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Agreed. I’m just guessing that it is grass type and not that no one cares. (At least not anymore).

I do remember golf courses that would have brown fairways in the winter.

it's just another example of how the details surrounding the team have been completely neglected, and it's well beyond the optics of it. There is no way that a franchise that has that little control over the maintenance of their practice facility, has any attention to detail elsewhere.

Two words baby - "Winter Rye"

My St Augustine lawn is oversewn with a winter rye mix. When the St Augustine decides it's too cold, the winter rye picks up the slack. My yard is green and my topsoil doesn't slide away every time it rains.

Granted, I mow year-round but I consider that a small price to pay.

Zoysiagrass (Zoysia species) was introduced into the United States from Asia and grows best during the warm (80 to 95 °F) months of spring, summer and early fall. They grow vigorously during this time and produce a dense, attractive lawn. Zoysiagrass will turn brown with the first fall frost and remain dormant during the winter. Its cultivars are adapted to the entire state and are some of the most cold-tolerant of the warm-season grasses.

I know it's been a very popular turf for golf courses and sports fields.

Yeah, my original point was that is unfair to compare grass quality (and color) between the DMV area and the Miami area in December.

That said, the photos from other ‘northern’ locations is a fair comparison.
