Random Commanders Thoughts

If "the good ole boy network" prevails in any way, look for massive lawsuits (that may happen regardless) that will include the NFL in any and all litigation. My guess is the NFL wants to avoid that mess.

Yeah. Color me skeptical they're going to do a damn thing. This just insulates them from criticism - not sure it means anything more than that.

The pressure is already coming for the NFL to replace the attorney hired by the team.

If this lawsuit was filed by the original ten women, then I would agree. 42 women are now represented and that number could grow. The NFL doesn't want this and the scapegoat could be Dan.

I'm not saying it can't happen, I'm saying there's not any evidence it will. The NFL was publicly called out by these attorneys and had no choice but to do something, lest they appear to be insensitive to the women making the allegations, or protecting Snyder. That's a lot different from removing an owner. I hope to God it comes to that - I'm just skeptical the NFL really cares enough to sacrifice one of their own.

The biggest aspect of today's news isn't that the 'investigating attorney' will now report to Goodell. It's that the women are now released from any previous NDA although frankly, how Goodell and the NFL can release them from it when it was a legal agreement made with Snyder and the team itself (a privately-owned entity) is beyond me? I don't think they can do that. More likely, they pressured Snyder to agree to set the NDAs aside.

something REALLY cool coming out of Ashburn.

The road leading to the park in Ashburn was previously Redskins Park Dr, and the road leading to Fedex field was previously named Redskins Rd, so they HAD to change the names.... still cool.

I saw Julie Donaldson and Fred Smoot pimping 'Redwolves' on Twitter.

I swear to you, if we go with this stupid name, I am done with the team and my own site.
I almost need to unfollow Smoot because that's all he seems to tweet about.

Erasure. Sucks that nobody has any principles or backbone anymore.

I mean, if nothing else put the ‘W’ out there. Or maybe they should go with ‘TBD’? :)

Interesting conversation to have..

People floating a 2nd rounder as a hypothetical. I don't trade Kerrigan. He's 2 sacks away from the team record. He's been here through some really low points and I REALLY like him as a rotational piece.

That said, a 2nd round player can be HUGE in the building of the team....

It seems to be our way. We got rid of Portis before he could break the Skins rushing record, and we dumped AP while he's record chasing.

I'm very against this idea.

AP will either break the record or he won’t. He probably has a better chance with our having cut him since he’s not a pass-catching RB and would’ve likely seen his carries significantly diminished in this offense.

I wouldn’t move Kerrigan unless we got an offer we couldn’t refuse, but he’s not going to be a guy you can rely on for more than a couple more years. I want a winning team and if that means parting with a core guy who is past his prime in order to get a high draft pick, I’m not letting sentimentality get in the way of that.

Washington Football Team Luncheon is available to 'join' virtually for anyone interested

You can’t keep a guy just for sentimental reasons. As fans, sure we want that. But as the GM, coach, or anyone in the personnel department, you can’t do that. You are paid to make those tough decisions. You can’t hold on to sentimentality. That’s not your job. Besides, does anyone actually care that Bruce Smith broke the sack record as a Redskin? I’d rather forget about that part of our teams history.

As for Kerrigan, I agree that you only trade him for the right offer. He is still a valuable piece for this team and if you think you can get good production from him, you keep him. I believe that’s where they are right now. But that’s the only reason you don’t trade him. Also, you would be foolish not to listen to offers in case a team gets desperate and offers more than they should. If they do, I think you have to trade him. Otherwise, you don’t because he can still contribute to this team.

Bellichick has made a pretty decent career trading guys for decent value right before their career dissipation lights lit up.
