If Snyder Goes, Does it Change Your Perspective?

If Snyder sells, will the name change debacle have been worth it?

  • Yes. I can live with a name change if it means the Dan Snyder era is over forever.

One of the reasons so many were out with the knives on the name change in the media was that Snyder had made a lot of enemies, most because of his personal style and dismissive attitude.

That's a LARGE part of it all. snyder has been such a dick to so many people over the years, including the fans, that the name change forces finally saw their chance to gang up on him. IF he had any paying fans left, and if he had even an average middle of the road record over the years, he probably could have told everyone to pound sand. But between the WOKE whiners, no paying fans, minority owners threatening to bail and everyone pulling the merch, the only thing he has left is the league revenue sharing, which probably isn't enough to keep the team going without spending his own money. So here we are.

Bulldog....I can agree with all that you post. But this doesn't stop at Snyder. Per previous, JKC's idiot children provided the initial push that got the boulder rolling downhill. Snyder was a contributing cause agent, but the name change was going to be pressed by the forces of woke whether Snyder was on scene or not. Someone else may have managed the transition with more grace and skill, but the unacceptable end result would have been the same.

I think that’s true. To paraphrase, there are so many other good reasons to despise Snyder :)

I wonder if Snyder isn't now protesting a little bit too much? :)

Snyder may have been unwilling to change the name at first, but once it was obvious the momentum was there to make the change, I wouldn't be surprised if Danny moved on to finding a logo and nickname that is going to sell millions of little stuffed red wolves to kids right around the holidays............................

I agree with the coaches part, to an extent. But the one constant in 21 years has been snyder

True dat. A flawed man who has succeeded financially but failed in a big way in many other pursuits - most specifically as the shepherd of Redskins nation. In moments of kindness I see him for what he is: a pretender who aspired to greatness in the football world - and failed.

Apparently he brought up changing the name to the NFL months ago

the first thing he said in the press release was "sponsors"

Snyder doesnt care about us or the team. he cares about money.

We all care about money to some degree! Snyder demonstrated a trait many of the rich, not all, are prone to - selling out folks in the pursuit of more wealth.

Your post is interesting. Someone, some day, needs to connect the dots. When did the concepts for this approach come into discussion leading to a gameplan? As far back as Allen and difficulties with striking a stadium deal and DC mayor threats? At the onset of the TW PR mangling? When the independent advisors were hired? During discussions with the Riverboat Pilot leading to his hire? During the Minneapolis burn-down? Who, exactly, was involved in this? The deployment of the change simply happened without any real lengthy lead-in for the public. It has a smelly feel of being orchestrated that reaches beyond virtue signalling by corporate beasts like FEDEX. Snyder had to be convinced. Who was involved? Who were the primary advocates? Just asking for some accountability and transparency. :)

Speaking of name changes: how about the Hong Kong Redwolves? I believe this hybrid would satisfy multiple interest groups.

Wizards had issues. At the time the issue of the KKK having ‘grand wizards’ was an undercurrent in thinking the new name could have been better chosen.

Total speculation so far, but maybe this could help to push him out the door?

sexism and racism is bad . Now you will soon read why people lost jobs “Santos ,Mann” and how bad was in the organization in regards to that . Story about it is coming out soon . Really is sad and disappointing.

Fwiw, several reporters are claiming that a bad story is about to drop.

I figured that the loose ship Allen and Gruden was running spike to some internal ‘liberties’ being taken.

Only a tone deaf front office would bring in a partially sober Scot McCloughan only to have him tell us he had his drinking problems under control as he was only now drinking beers 😳

Rumblings of damning report on #Redskins Owner Dan Snyder will come from @washingtonpost tomorrow. Remember, that’s the paper owned by Jeff Bezos. I’ve heard it called a coup. Play by Play voice just resigned. More drama coming in Old DC.

That's from Chad Forbes.

It's apparent that a few employees did or said some unfortunate things.

Let's hope that Dan knew about it and continued to allow it to happen. In these times, that might be enough to hand the keys over to a conglomerate run by Joe Gibbs.

I am undecided... We might end up with someone worse. Imagine we get a new owner, and they want their own guys in and get rid of Rivera and throw out the good with the bad. There have been improvements since getting rid of Bruce Allen. It really depends on what news drops and where the team lands after everything has been decided. I feel Rivera is the best thing to happen to this franchise in a while.
