I dig your draft BB, hit offense hard which is what Bieienemy (sp) will want. I'm assuming Martin filled in for Scherff, how'd he do for a rookie?

Martin did fine, but he did have a few times where he struggled. Typical rookie game, but with some good upside.

We are down to two more grades/evals entries before it is history. Next fall, I will have a similar type of inseason article chain on Riggo's Rag each week during the season and the playoffs - it that occurs.

I will get the offseason blog started here in a couple of weeks and spend the month of January transitioning it to the Rag. It will look similar to the blog, but it will be in article form each week. I will do the same for player evals in June and July. I won't be able to cover training camp as I did the last two years, but there will be plenty of articles.

Before I forget...
The owners here gave me a bit of latitude with something I informally called "Burner's Burning Questions". It would flop or succeed. You could've rejected it, but the response was solid and it grew. I was given "Blogger" status. Then it came with graphics of its own and the popularity increased.

Then it was "Expert" status and it was advertised on social media. I had no idea that it could go so well. There is only one reason why all of this has happened. YOU. Each and everyone one of you. I did this each year for the membership at BGO. I had the time and desire to do this blog. Together, we made something special out of it.

Then an offer came to me - writing for Last Word on Sports. Then it was on to Riggo's Rag (owned by FanSided and Time, Inc.). Because of my work here, this is what I'm able to do going forward. As a result, several members of the Redskins media follow me on twitter. Several former Redskins follow me. Many fans follow me. And several members of the DC media (non-sports related). I could never dream that it would grow as it has and it still humbles me.

All of this was made possible because of my life at BGO. I hope you stay connected with me through social media and will comment often on the articles at Riggo's Rag. Until then, we have more work to do here at BGO. See you as we go along.

I have no idea what Dan's thinking but I definitely want Bienemy as our next HC. Guy has been running a damn good offense for a few years now & he'd by my #1 candidate out of available coaches.

Maybe he's good, but I still wonder how much of that success is mainly due to Mahomes Mahoming ?

That could very well be true but it could be reversed as well. Basically the chief system loaded with a knowledgeable staff knew exactly what to do for PM to produce.

We've been without a quality staff & front office so long it's crazy. Rock star players are fantastic to have but championship teams take a village of quality elders imo.

BB, I loved seeing Najee Harris as someone we could end up with. My only question is...will he last to early in the 5th round?

There will be some players who drop to the fifth and that group usually includes ILBs, DTs, TEs, and RBs. Harris is probably a late third to early fourth round pick for now. Some services place him as a second rounder and others have him going in the sixth.

Burner, one player on the team I'm curious about is Stroman.
His season ended early due to injury, but I'm curious if they see enough in him, to bring him back next year and try to fit him into the depth chart

Stroman will be on the roster in August, but we'll see if he is on the roster in September. He needs a very good offseason.

Henceforth I want the same out of the secondary too. Smaller/quicker guys for the slot are fine but having a secondary with range and jumping ability are key.

Win's o-line requirement would be 6'5” or taller as well. Hogzilla style

Henceforth I want the same out of the secondary too. Smaller/quicker guys for the slot are fine but having a secondary with range and jumping ability are key.

Reminds me of a certain RB on the Giants that I would dread playing against, because he would bruise and batter us every time.

The Redskins put up another spirited and determined effort on Sunday, but it wasn't enough as they fell to the Giants in overtime. The Burgundy and Gold dropped to 3-12. Problems obviously still exist and changes are all but inevitable at this juncture. There will likely be a new head coach this winter. Assistant coaches are barely hanging on and if the NFL draft was held today, the Redskins would have the second overall pick in the 2020 draft. The struggling displays this season have fans fuming and calling for the heads of the team president, defensive coordinator, and owner. Today we assign grades for the Giants game and make a prediction for the Cowboys game – the season finale and the last football contest this decade. We also include what the Redskins should do in the 2020 free agency market. Also, we have a 2020 mock draft and it includes trades.

Week Sixteen: Grades and Evaluations
Offense:
Dwayne Haskins continues to prove that he is the quarterback of the present and future for the Redskins. Terry McLaurin is having a season to remember and Steven Sims arguably had his best game as a rookie thus far. Kelvin Harmon is the real deal. The tight ends had a solid game. The rushing offense was a bit subpar, but the passing offense was quite good. The offensive line was fairly decent.
BBQ Grade: B-

Defense:
This late season game was not pretty and the defense should simply burn the videos and move on. Giving up forty-one points to a 3-11 (now 4-11) division rival is nothing short of horrific. Let's just move along, shall we?

Special Teams:
Tress Way had another excellent game and it is no surprise that he was chosen as a first team Pro Bowl punter last week. Dustin Hopkins connected on all five of his extra point attempts. The return unit had just one return and it was solid.
BBQ Grade: A

Coaching:
The offensive coaching was very good and the defensive coaching was something to forget. Special teams had a good game. If the defense had a better showing, this weekly grade would've been fairly good. Are you ready for a new defensive coordinator and staff?

Week Seventeen Prediction: Redskins at Cowboys
BBQ moves to 12-3, but we're glad to be wrong at times. The team closes out this decade on Sunday against a struggling Cowboys team that is still fighting for a playoff berth. The Redskins have been competitive the last five weeks and they are likely to give Dallas a hard fought battle on Sunday. The team continues taking steps in the right direction, but they will fall short in the season finale.

Redskins Free Agency 2020
The Redskins are projected to have substantial cap space for 2020. A new CBA could push the total much higher. Generous cap space and so much more to be gained should be taken advantage of during this upcoming off-season. Here is what BBQ projects:

If I remember correctly, he trucked Landry, not Taylor. I honestly never remember Taylor getting trucked.
