Random Commanders Thoughts

It is being reported Garcon has a deal in place with 49ers. First year worth $16 million! Reported by Chris Mortensen.

Jackson will get the same or more from Tampa or another team. Hasta la vista.

Well, that sucks if true ! The one player we really need to have kept here.

Pete, guess when you have $90+ million in cap space you can over pay and front load deals. It does suck.

Makes you wonder if there also isn't some sort of guarantee that Cousins will be there.

But again for $16 million in first year does he really care who is throwing the ball?

Maybe if they told him #8 would be throwing him the ball, that's when he told them he wanted $16mil up front.

Just a guess, but that Garcon number is deceiving. It's likely $16 million in the first year and $5 million in the second.

Doesn't really matter. We're loosing the most dependable target Kirk had.

Baker leaving for 3 year deal that averages $6M per.

That's pretty cheap give the estimates of $8-9M that were out there for him last week.

He is 29, so the deal keeps him in his prime, coming out at the right age of 32 or so.

This is a deal the Redskins should have matched.

Is it just me... or is this becoming a hard off season to watch? :/

The Patriots can get the #12 overall pick for Garroppolo but we can't raise an ear in re a trade for Cousins.

Do we know if Terrell Pryor visited last night (as I think I heard suggested on 980 this morning), or if he's scheduled to come today?

There was a reported sighting of him boarding the team's Gulfstream yesterday in Burke on the way out of town.

Thanks Chris. Guess that means we didn't make him the traditional Redskins offer that can't be refused ...

Just curious for the more knowledgable of you...with the loss of Garcon and Jackson, what sort of compensation should we expect from the league via draft picks? Neither player was drafted high, but both have been more than solid players in the NFL.

I would expect at least a 5th, maybe a 4th for Garcon.

I would think a 3rd, at least a 4th for Jackson.

What did we get for Orakpo, though? Nothing if memory serves.

Now let this games begin. Do we work out at LTD with Cousins? Do we let him play 2017 then leave for SF in 2018? Do we trade him now?

It is reported Snyder doesn't want him with Shanahan, so what will the team do? Who blinks first?
