Random Commanders Thoughts

I read it cost Williams somewhere around $1.6 million this year. It also has an impact on his 2017 base salary. Sounds like his $11.25 million base guarantee salary is wiped out. There are other factors involved. I'm not a cap expert, so don't understand all the what if's.

I still don't have the full story on Williams. One report is that he failed a test. Another is that he 'missed' a test, and because he was already in the drug program that was cause for the suspension.

Practically, I guess it doesn't matter from the perspective that he has let his teammates and the organization down. This comes at the worst possible time for the team as it faces the meat of the schedule.

But what are you going to do? He is the team's best player and is only 28.

The Redskins are not going to release or trade a pro bowl left tackle in his prime for this.

Nsekhe is just going to have to ball out.

I loved it Doc, it was so much fun. Actually seeing them LIVE while also having you guys to talk to about it. It's the closest I'll get to ACTUALLY going to a game with you guys.

I'm trying to organize coming over to Fedex to see the Skins in their home stadium, but that might be a couple of years in the building and saving. It would be great if we could get a group of us together for that. Really would make the trip special. :D

In other news, I'm dismayed about the Trent news!

Alot of work to do during the Bye.

Would love to see you make the trip over here... I'm sure the group here would plan something around your trip.

that being said, I, too am dismayed about Trent. I don't know
what is going on with the Vikings... no clue what is behind Norv Turner's resignation this morning. It's only 2 games they've lost. I find it all too coincidental... and as Leroy Jethro Gibbs would say.. there's no such thing as coincidence.

But yes, we have much to do during the Bye week... one is hopefully heal all the bumps and bruises from London. I still can't believe it ended in a tie.. it's so surreal. It could, of course, be worse.. we could have lost. But we had so many chances to put the game away. ::just shaking head::

In any event... enjoy football this weekend with the Mrs. Green Bay hopefully will get a win against Indy.

And as to my two cents with regards to the next 4 games.. I think we'll take 2. Would love to upset the Boys on Turkey Day but the way they're playing.. and conversely not knowing which version of each team (offense/defense/special teams/coaching) is going to show up for us..I am not going to bank on it (but certainly won't complain if we at least give them a run for their money).

Isn't Trent lucky he got only 4 games ?
He got 4 games on his first suspension for basically the same violation.
So, isn't it supposed to progressively increase after each violation ?
Josh Gordon got a whole year, on his 2nd, I believe, for the same thing - before he appealed it for a reduction to 10 games.

I was curious so I read the policy. After 2 years, if you pass all your tests, you can be removed from the drug testing program. Once you are removed from the program, you are treated as if you were never in it. So any repeat failed tests are like your first time.

"A Player who completes Stage Two without being advanced to Stage Three will be discharged from the Intervention Program, after which he will be afforded the same status as a Player who had never by Behavior or a Positive Test been referred to the Intervention Program."

70M in cap space sure beats having to restructure contracts for a handful of 30-35 year old players to just get 15-20M so that we can throw money at more old free agents who likely won't fit and won't produce.

Gives us room to eat the cap hit and part ways with Trent "Bag of Hammers" Williams.

This is a big week for us. All of our rivals within the division have some tough matchups.

Atlanta travels to Philly.

Dallas has to play in Pittsburgh.

And the Giants host Cincy.

We are currently favored by 2 1/2 over Minnesota.

Niles Paul to IR with a shoulder injury. Wow.

I think we have a better chance of me getting elected president tomorrow then us cutting bait with Trent.

Redskins have signed DT, Jordan Hill to the roster. They also added CB Lee Hightower to the practice squad.

:)

I like our chances

People have posed the question, if we can only keep one player, Jackson or Garcon. To me it's simple.... who has been available every week season after season. Petey has been about as durable as a receiver can be.
