The Pro Bowl is not the All Stars who are awarded that designation as the best at their position. The pro bowl is an exhibition game, not meant to be confused with the guys who really earned the honor from their play on the field (as in ALL PRO status). It is a popularity contest for the fans. Meaningless and should be done away with for safety reasons.

I may not agree with the emphasis (or lack thereof) on OL, but New England can't be serious when they fire the OL coach. They let him go yesterday. Ok, fine. Whatever. Pretty sure Brady wouldn't mind some better and younger big uglies up front.

They did what?!? Seriously? They played something like 36 different combinations of players on the line, mostly due to injury, and still went to the AFC Championship game. You don't fire a guy who deals with that when you still get those results. You just don't.

I was thinking the exact same thing. Read the article after I got up yesterday and was like "Hunh... ?"

You can't fault the guy for the lack of personnel.

There are two ways to get 15 draft picks. Either trade down, or trade current players.

I'm still in shock that he didn't get a little more aggressive with Morris or RG3. Morris and RG3 on the roster right now, or two extra 4th round draft picks to draft two safeties with right now? I understand if Dan insisted on keeping RG3, or if they kept him as a security blanket in case Cousins crapped the bed. But man....come on. This is a rebuild. I would kill for 2 extra 4ths right now.

I wonder if he's considering trading anyone this offseason for extra picks? Desean and Garcon are the two that immediately jump to mind. Personally, I wouldn't trade either. Last year's decisions were a golden opportunity to go that route. This year is much more difficult.

That OL coach got a raw deal. I imagine that Brady was crying, so someone had to take the fall.

Remember last season when NE traded away their starting LT or RT exactly 3 days before the season began? Lol. Brady complained, but they still won the SB.

Belichick isn't a fan of emphasizing the OL.

But look at what he does on defense. 5 1st rounders on that D--at least one on every level.

Interesting article below with some big points.

1. RG3 passed his season-ending physical. I had seen some confusion about when this physical was really scheduled. It's not in March, as some reporters had claimed. It's been completed. The team is now off the hook for his salary.

2. Scot still hasn't made his mind up on RG3.

3. Scot says that he doesn't want to use the franchise tag on Cousins. He'd prefer to sign him to a long-term deal.

The Patriots haven't drafted a single O-line player before the 4th round for the last ten years now. Not one.

The guy didn't have much to work with.

Really enjoyed listening to Scot yesterday. It feels so good to have some one like him in charge now. You can tell he clearly has a vision of what he wants this team to look like going forward. I can't remember the last time I could say that confidently. In Scot I Trust!

The Logan Mankins trade didn't work out too well for New England.

They got Tim Wright, who was a bust and is now with Cleveland, as well as a #4 draft pick.

Meanwhile, Brady got pressured to the point of his life against Denver.

That probably works out to a pretty reasonable yearly cap number, though. $4 mil and change per year pro-rated guarantee, and probably escalating salary starting around $2-3 mil the first year or two. Probably also includes some escape clauses for the team should performance dip. If our man Reed turns in another monster year next year, I think we're going to be paying him a whole lot more than that.
