Random Commanders Thoughts

The Saints' D has allowed a TD on 29.0 % of their drives; worst in the NFL. Skins have faced good D's recent weeks. Not sunday.

I just saw a stat on nfln ticker...said skins have given up 9 sacks this yr...tied for 1st in that.

Also saw on NFL network that Redskins only team that has not allowed a 300 yard passer.

Really? Well that's 2 stats I never woulda guessed with our record. Night & day from last yr anyways.

Who has to throw against us when teams are getting almost 133 yards per-game rushing against us without having to even think about it?

It would also be interesting and relevant to see what percentage of time, the opposing team was behind, in our games, when they actually needed to pass. I'm guessing maybe less than 10% of the time.

We have had some very poor performances from the front seven, including Stephen Paea who has had ZERO impact as a bonus dollar free agent and Perry Riley who really needs to be moved out of a starting position at ILB.

But the deficiencies against the run really started to come to the fore once we started to have injury issues in the secondary.

That meant the safeties were going to be set to prevent big gains down the field and were not going to be as aggressive coming up to support the run.

Now that we are getting Culliver and Hall back from injury I would look for the run defense to get better over the second half of the season.

But we still have not heard anything about Paea and what is going on with him.

And Terrance Knighton's chronic migraines are evidently another major issue for the front line.

Did anyone here have any idea when we were contemplating signing him that he suffered from these during his NFL career and caused him to miss games?

I didn't.

Antonio Brown had quite a game last week. 17 receptions for 284 yds. and 2 carries for 22 yds. Anyone care to guess who was covering him for that game?

Anyone?

I'll give you a hint.

D vid merson.

Here's the odd thing. Since Amerson went to Oakland, he has garnered 9 passes defensed-team leader on a team that ranks third in the league in total passes defensed with 52 passes defensed , an INT, and 33 solo tackles in six games after a serious level of under achievement here.

WTF?
