Random Commanders Thoughts

If I were a gambling man, I would wager that of the 3 currently on the roster, only 2 will be by the start of the regular season.

I am pretty pissed we resigned McCoy, so we now have the same three QB's on this team as we did last year, and Gruden benched them all. Waste of money to resign McCoy unless the plan is to trade Griffin or Cousins. I am trying to stay positive on this, but the Gruden is a moron thoughts are already creeping back into my head......

so you're saying Gruden made the decision and told McLovin to do it, and McLovin said OK you're the man. Is that about right?

I knew Jones eventually was going Togo back to the well of troubled athletes.

He stayed away for awhile but Dallas and Oakland are still the halfway houses in the NFL.

From whatI heard this AM on ESPN Hardy has a long history going back to college of drinking heavily, missing curfews, team meetings, etc.

Evidently in college he went AWOL for an entire week and then showed up on Saturday in uniform hoping to play.

Jones has been lucky that Dez Bryant his other problem child has stayed out of trouble and developed into an elite player.

We will see if lightning strikes the second time out.

Funny on Dez. That was then, and this is now. Remember when he slapped his mother and she filed charges? Back then it could be swept under the rug. Now in the NFL, domestic abuse is top of the house and even if its history, it could be revived. So this Hardy signing is top of talk radio in Dallas. Garrett emphasized how he is only interested in the right type of players to be Cowboys. Now he must backtrack for Jerry. And Hardy signing impacts their ability to work out a long term deal with Dez. What a circus.

Plus, Hardy instituted a "no franchise tag" clause in his contract so Dez wants one too in the negotiations because he thinks he got screwed. The meltdown is waiting to happen.

more likely: since NO OTHER TEAM IN THE LEAGUE VALUED MCCOY ENOUGH TO SIGN HIM....they both agreed there was nothing to lose by signing him to an el cheapo contract.

my guess? whether it's Griffin, McCoy or Cousins....31 other teams are laughing at the Skins QB situation.

I think about half the teams in the NFL are unsettled at the QB position (or at least, may not have a true franchise QB on the roster). I think we have plenty of company on that front...

At least the Redskins don't have much invested currently in dollars under the cap in these players.

If they don't turn out, we don't lose any future flexibility under the cap. If one of them becomes a solid starter in 2015 then we have him on a bargain contract.

Teams like the Eagles are gambling that an oft-injured qb like Bradford is going to be productive and durable when he has never shown that in the past and they have what $13M in the pot for him in 2015? And the loss of Foles. What if Foles breaks out in St. Louis and becomes very productive at age 25. The luster will come off Kelly pretty quickly.

Other teams like the Raiders (Schaub) are carrying dead cap money for qbs that are no longer on the roster.

And then there are the clubs like the Bears (Cutler) that would love to move on from their current qbs but can't because of the ridiculous contracts they signed.

The Redskin situation at qb is far from ideal, but it is not as bad as some other clubs out there.

BB's comment that the Redskins could move on Goldson next week if he is released to me is spot on.

I think we will still take a safety in the draft, but that player is likely to be a mid-rounder that will need a year or two to develop.

Goldson can be a solid bridge if used properly.

Goldson (30) or Taylor Mays (27) sure seem like good bets to be on the roster.

If both players grade out equally, I believe McLovin would prefer the younger player.

Goldson has played better in the past. I don't know what happened in Tampa, other than the radio guy down there said Smith didn't use Goldson to his strengths and he was a waste of money.

No cowbum will ever get credit by me on this site

No bitch ass iggle will ever get credit from me on this site

No vagiant will ever get credit from me on this site.

**** all of them

HAIL TO THE REDSKINS!

Good to see Tarik El Bashir (sp?) from CSN on the NFL network this morning. Its simple to me that you use hard working media types who report the team without an agenda. So much better than anybody from the WP has been on air for the longest time.

exactly! and McCoy wasn't on anyone's radar screen.

Jarvis Jenkins signed with the Bears. Hope this player swap for Paea works out! If he signed there last week.... would we have gotten a compensatory pick? GD I hate that we never seem to get any of those.
