eff those cats. if what you project is true...*uck them and the horse they rode in on. it's not about a group of egotistical **icks making more money in their 20s than most people earn in a lifetime. they are there for the team.....not the other way around.

those turds need to pipe up alright: specifically about getting back to basics (hmmm...a different slant on that theme) so they all look at least marginally professional. what we are seeing traces, in part, to one major root cause: lack of focus/concentration. the dropped passes, false starts, lining up in the wrong place...and on...and on. that starts and ends with every player on that team.

not ranting at you McD5. I'm run down by these sorry excuses for players. they are the ones tubing each of these games.

But just to play devil's advocate, which one is the most egotistical?

Our 3-7 QB has his own logo. Think about that for a second.

Does Andrew Luck have his own logo? Kaepernick? Wilson? Brady or Manning?

Step 1. The team has a horrendous game. The QB takes a lot of responsibility, but then says a few stupid things that some interpret as calling out other players.

Step 2. The HC says that no one on the team played well. Including the QB. Says the QB's comments went too far about others on the team.

Step 3. QB runs to Facebook and calls out anyone who believes that his comments were inappropriate.

The problem? The HC was one of those people.

Why can't we ever have anything nice?

I don't think that's what Gruden said. what he said was the coaches will look after the other players...Robert needs to look out after himself.

this, of course, conflicts with "we're all a team" notions. but what the heck.....what we're seeing is a bunch of people under duress reacting in self-defensive ways.

I will agree on one thing: in this hostile environment....RGIII needs to drop the social media crap and focus on one thing...football. I have supported him in the past in this regard.....but a guy that smart ought to understand when and when not to exercise the liberty.

he needs to get his friggin act in order too. this team is not executing basics and makes atrocious mistakes. the longer it persists......that is on coaching pure and simple.

The whole team, including the staff and players, need to adopt the philosophy of "Shut up and play"
Stop pointing fingers, stop publicly insulting other players, whether it's cryptic, veiled insults or not.
Do your own job. You can't truly get better and focus on your own job, if you're qualifying everything you say, with "Yea but, this player isn't doing this".

I don't care what the other guys do in the specifics. they..ALL OF THEM...are doing the same thing in the abstract: making as much money as they can in the business end of the NFL by huckstering one product or another. these guys aren't stupid. they know the shelf life of an NFL player. they're going to make as much as they can. RGIII is actually being a bit imaginative in his approach whether one likes the specific form it takes or not. they're all doing the same thing.

I don't see RGIII marketing a hot wife like a sack of patatoes as does Brady. should he?

What's being missed in all this is that football is Gruden's job, but even before that, the culture of the team and tone of the locker room is his job. Players spouting off, running to the media to give 'anonymous' quotes, that's all stuff that shouldn't be happening but which is happening. And it's occurring right under Gruden's nose. That either means players don't fear or respect him, he's not really in charge, or he hasn't done anything to make it clear that shit isn't going to fly.

He's the ****ing head coach of this team and it's already totally out of control. Where is the coaching staff in all this?

Completely agree. There's no excuse. Especially after a bye week. And if it doesn't improve, he can go too.

that's a volte-face!

In my case, just like with RG, I believe in Gruden. I think he has what it takes. he needs to figure it out...like RG....and make the necessary changes. that includes...as Boone is screaming...establishing who is the marshall in that locker room and ending all this unnecessary, distracting drama. sink or swim as a team. we're seeing before our very eyes a very human dilemma: what happens when things go South. this is one of those critical moments where you take the measure of a man (the players and coaches) and determine whether he rises to the challenge or sinks to his flaws. not the best metaphor...but you get the idea!!!

well....and I have been critical of this team for several years now.....we need to ride this one out. we have been through this ringer as fans one too many times. I'll get angry during games and for a couple hrs afterward.....but I'm not dwelling on it any longer. not sweating the crisis of the moment.

not switching to any other team...so all I can do is ride it out! but I don't have to kiss their you know whats either. they have to earn my/our respect back. from top to bottom in that organization.

Sadly spot on, but not unexpected. Coming off injury, I would normally cut a player some slack, but it's just been too long a journey with Hank. More so on a team loaded with receiving talent.

My personal HOPE and we may never actually know the truth, is that they are addressing this in house. Gruden coming out and making the statement he did should have come AFTER he had a conversation with Jax and Griff. That conversation consisted of "This is our team, we are here to win football games, and that only happens when WE execute our responsibilities." I'm 100% speculating and voicing what I HOPE is happening. I have no reason to understand anything different.

Griffin is in his third year in the NFL. He looks like a sixth round draft pick rookie starting out there. He basically is a guy that has a strong arm and can throw the deep ball and occasionally hit it, but he can't read defenses or show the proper mechanics in setting up to throw the football.

You can say that he has been injured and had to view things from the sidelines or film room, but then again you can say that Aaron Rodgers SAT for his first THREE years in the NFL before he got the chance to play at all. He sat on the sidelines and watched Brett Favre.

So what is Griffin missing?

Watching him the past couple of weeks it seems painfully obvious that Griffin does not have a natural feel for the quarterback position. Yes, he can throw the ball down the field. He can run with the ball. But he can't feel the rush. He doesn't have good pocket skills. He throws off balance and without setting his feet. He short-arms balls for interceptions.

What's worse, he refuses to throw the ball out of bounds to avoid costly sacks and negative plays.

Coaching? Maybe he is being coached during the week, but he looks like a kid playing sandlot football on Sunday.

No sophistication to his game at all.

Granted I did not see the game, but it was one game. I'm having a hard time imagining that the OLine suddenly acquired the ability to block consistently and excellently and Robert just decided to sit there with his thumb up his ass all game. We invested a lot in this kid, everyone has a bad game. EVERYONE. Shit, this week was brutal for everyone. Philly got crushed. The GMen were embarrassed, and Denver lost to the freaking Rams. Every once in a while, the NFL God's decide to take a dump on gamblers, and things like this last weekend happen. If I were Pittsburgh tonight, I would take the Titans VERY seriously.

Robert looked remarkably solid against the Vikes coming back from injury. Let's not bury the guy yet. Stay the course, keep the evaluation going through the year so we can make an intelligent decision by May.

And for the love of all that's holy, stop with the Colt McCoy BS. Just. Stop. He's not good. Of who we have on the roster right now, Griffin's skillset gives us the best chance to win, and it isn't close. NOT CLOSE. If you want to argue at the end of the year that Griff shouldn't be here long term, we can have that discussion. But please stop the Colt nonsense (pretty sure I've already deja'd this vu).
