Random Commanders Thoughts

I feel for guys that have only known this franchise as a "factory of sadness"

I can remember how much fun it was to always be in the playoffs and to always be considered a super bowl contender. I feel like the Pats of the 80s and 90s, or the Browns of now....but I still have visions of Gibbs' giant glasses, Hogs everywhere, men dressed like ugly women in pig noses, and a RB who told supreme court justices to "relax, baby"

I never understood the Hogettes though. I may be in the minority but I always thought that having our adopted mascot be ugly men in hideous dresses and pig noses was weird and unbecoming of our team. I know people got in to it and it doesn't drive me insane, but I always just thought it odd that was what we went with.

I believe it was a group of smart enough fans to know that the QB was no good without a good OL & they showed their support for that OL. A little on the weird side, I'll admit, but it stuck. It was fine for that time period but I definitely think it should stay in the past at this point. I know Pez, from ES was the most recent addition to the Hogettes, but as I'm saying it I realize, why are they still going? The Hogs are LOOOOOONG gone & there's really no need for them to continue doing the Hogette thing, IMO.

They retired. The Hogettes are no more.

As far as I know, there is still a group out there, but I could be wrong. The originals are all but gone, but new ones have sprung up in their place. Anyway, that was the last I knew. Like I said, I could be wrong.

I love the idea, and the gear.... "bootleg" I'm guessing, and being the logo wouldn't be trademarked or sanctioned by the NFL, there's little anybody could do legally.

Dam, I need to start working on a clothing line :)

I'd buy from you, Pete.

Thanks brother, I'll brand them with this ....

If we're interested in roster improvement and improving Special Teams, don't we have to bring in Matt Prater, who Denver just released?

I thought the same thing. And since he's a kicker, the investment in him should be small. So if he acts like an idiot again, you just cut him and sign another kicker.

How many straight has Forbath made though? This seems like an area we are very good in. He missed a key one but made 2 close to 50 in the same game.

Prater made 25-of-26 field goal attempts last season (96.2 percent), including an NFL record 64-yarder in December. And his career 82.9 percent success rate makes him the most accurate kicker in franchise history. Prater has made 51 of his 54 career attempts in the fourth quarter or overtime.

That sounds like he's worth a look.

They trademarked their brand a long time ago to protect their integrity. A few pop-ups came along, got drunk and made the Hogettes look bad. The official Hogettes are retired.

DUIs, substance abuse, and the next time he screws up he'll be out for a long while. He's 30 years old. He may be a better kicker right now, but no thanks.

RGIII back on the practice field today. Didn't participate in drills, but was on the field.

So who would be mimicking Russell Wilson in practice? Paulson maybe....gotta respect his speed.

Depending where we end up in the draft order...yeah, yeah, yeah, I know it's a long way off, but I am watching college ball today...would anyone be opposed to drafting Roberto Aguayo in the 2nd round?

Tracy Porter bruised his vagina? I cannot believe I miss Deangleo Hall. Unfathomable.

Prater is a band aid. Don't get me wrong, he's actually a really nice guy, and a hell of a kicker, but kickers are funny birds. Some come in and light it up, only to be gone in a few seasons. Some take time to develop, and wind up having great careers for many years. Some have it all from start to finish. I was pissed after the missed FG, but in the long term, I think we need to give Kai more time to develop.

I think we need to have a rule that a Redskin has to actually play a few games before we start hating him.
