Random Commanders Thoughts

What also never works out around here is over paying for guys. ;)

Guys we didn't draft, looking for a payday, sure. Last guy we drafted that got a huge contract extension? I can't even recall.

Who was the last player we drafted that we overpaid on their non-rookie contract for?

Lavar Arrington? It's been a while. They passed on everybody else from Bailey, Rogers, Landry and most of the others were busts or draft pics traded for WR's etc.

Bailey we traded because he didn't want to be here anymore, rumors about a mistress ad stuff.
Rogers didn't want to be here. Does anyone blame him?

Landry was injury prone and despite his body builder body just wasn't that good... he, like many of Cerrato's draft picks, lacked the thing between the ears required to play at the highest level.

I think the point is that re-signing Orakpo would not be a sign of 'same old Redskins.' The old Redskins let their decent talent go and tried to replace it with other teams' overpriced vets.

Allen Robinson is my prediction for our pick.

I'd prefer Benjamin, but I'm pretty certain that it's Robinson we'll go after.

Watching the wr's at the combine...so many of these guys I'd like our team to nab.

Few qb's didn't throw on some of the drills and I couldn't remember....did Bob sit out any drills while participating in others?

Jay Gruden just made his first field appearance......showing up for the WR drills.

Would you like for me to post the first BBQ mock of 2014 this week or wait until the following week?

Benjamin just won't slip that far.

It won't even be close. He'll go in the top half of the first round.

Last I saw was somewhere in the 14-18 range. I haven't seen any of the combine so I don't know if he's elevated his game in that regard.

KB measured 6'5 and 240 at the combine. His forty times were 4.59 & 4.53. I didn't see him drop a pass during the drills.

Reports through school are that he also was measured at 4% body fat.

Jesus... With measurables like that, I'd be surprised to see him get out of the top ten.

A lot of needs at a lot of positions. Mike Evans from TAM is almost the same size and has better hands.

Word is he's not the sharpest tool in the shed. He's a 23 year old senior in college, I graduated at 40 . Not that that means he's stupid, but there have been concerns about his mind for the pro game.

Edit: I hope he's got enough to grasp an NFL playbook because he's a good kid and has all the talent in the world.

Given some of the guys who are stars in the NFL, I really have to question how important 'smart' is on the pro game :)

You mean like Fred Davis? Malcom Kelly? Devin Thomas? :puke:

No - I mean like half this year's Pro Bowlers. Smart isn't a top 3 quality :)
