Numbers, stats, and results vs. fan commentary? Think I'll stick what the actual data shows.

3 playoff games, 3 close games where even the players complained about the OC forgetting to run the ball. Who passes the ball 31 times in the 4th quarter resulting in 0 points? The Bengals vs the Chargers on Sunday. What does it insinuate when Marvin Lewis says after the game that they asked Andy Dalton to do too much? Is Lewis even upset that Gruden is gone now? I doubt it.

I predict alot of Redskins fans sounding like Cowboy fans complaining about Jason Garrett blowing 2nd half leads next season.

With another hold by their defense, the Bengals could have had a potentially game-tying or game-winning drive in the closing minutes.

But that didn't happen.

What did happen was this: The Bengals got predictable. The same offensive line that entered the game wanting to be the aggressor ended up playing back on its heels, constantly trying to protect Dalton from consistent blitzes and pass rushes. Instead of pushing piles forward, the line was caught off guard as linebackers and defensive linemen pushed it back hard.

That resulted in a flustered Dalton who escaped the pocket once on a third-down scramble before fumbling as he dove for extra yards. That was the same Dalton who later threw an interception off his back foot, and one more that a linebacker read all the way."

Sounds alot like what happened to our QB in several games this year.

How long have you followed the football team owned by Dan Snyder? I think it's a lot easier to predict than you allow yourself to see.

there is a trend amongst some of the more jaded fans that just puzzles me. What would Snyder have to do (outside of selling the team) to get you on board with anything that they are doing?

Start producing a consistent football team that wins and is playing meaningful football in December and January?

Most of the criticisms I'm seeing take the form of most criticisms from most fans when teams don't win... including ours...

which is to blame the play callers. The people that aren't actually on the field.

I see the same things being said about Gruden that I saw our own fans going after Kyle for. Both of which are widely considered in the league to be bright offensive minds.

You can look at it that way, or look at it that he used his friendship to bring them here. I know that sounds obscure, but lets be honest, this organization has lacked a level of "harmony" since Gibbs 1.0. It might not hurt to get a bunch of "friends" in here and see what happens when people work together. Obviously I don't want us to become Bruce Allen's hangout, but Gruden isn't some chump off the streets. It would be one thing if we hired on another Jim Zorn, and he had ties to Allen, but Gruden was a sought after coaching candidate.

Actually, I completely disagree with this entire paragraph (sorry).

Allen was hired because Shanahan wanted him to be the GM. Then Shanahan hired his son to the be OC. Shanahan had full control over hiring whomever the heck he wanted. Harmony amongst the higher-ups has not been a problem for this team. It's the fact that those guys, chummy as they all were together, did a lousy job.

Look, if Gruden turns out to be a great coach none of this will likely matter. I'm just not thrilled with the idea that we kept a slew of mediocre assistants on staff, either to entice a coach to sign on here or to save a few bucks. It says to me that this team still has it's priorities a bit out of whack. In the first case it says to me we went into this coaching search with stars in our eyes and didn't do our due diligence when searching for a coach, and in the second case it says our checkbook is more important than getting a coach and letting him pick his own assistants.

I hope neither of those are the case, but given the past history of this team's front office I have a hard time giving them the benefit of the doubt anymore.

Let's just hope for the best.

Mike, it's real simple.

Win=happy
Lose=unhappy

What should Snyder do?

Own a team that wins a lot of games. Until that happens, which includes right now, a lot of people are going to be skeptical of just about anything he does. Or doesn't do. Of is perceived to have done. Or whatever.

Just win and it all goes away.

I think Kyle was a very good coordinator, I just don't think we had the players. I think Gruden is a good offensive mind, but the key will be the people we come up with for him to coach. Over time or personnel dept. has let us down a lot more than coaching has.

Yeah I think he has a regular appearance on one of their shows one of the days during the week at like 5...

NFL network follows the same model as ESPN. Hire a person and just start popping them up here and there to get the audience used to them, after enough time they become a full time host of some show.

So I'm sure in 6 months he'll be a main, regular host on his show.

I don't even listen to that station anymore... It's too agenda driven. It's like trying to listen to a cable news network.
