i sold the tickets to the lions game. thank god, we're going to be europe during that time so I had to sell all 3 tickets.

still can't find anyone for the rest of the games. had one response asking for price on one of my postings, but that's it :\

Y'know....under the heading of random thoughts......I see that Chris Cooley is now on the broadcast team. I think that could actually be a nice fit. But, aside from that, it's interesting to me that the common perception is that when he was on the squad last year he had little or no impact at all. I keep seeing that he had only one catch, and that - in most opinions - is that. However, what I remember from last season is that in the last few games...those games we won that launched us into the playoffs, Chris Cooley had a couple KEY blocks that opened things up for critical touchdowns or gains. Those are the kinds of things that won't make a stat line, but to me were HUGE impact moments made by a crafty veteran and a key time.

For those moments, I'm very thankful and bestow credit where credit is truly due.

Wise is struggling more and more. He's been pushed off the radio and it appears his writing (at least for the NFL) has reduced to sarcastic rips at the organization over silly issues.

It's almost sad to watch someone be so petty and petulant, but when I remember how obnoxious he is it makes me happy. I'm betting his days are numbered at the post, at least in terms of NFL coverage.

i just got invited to a comcast business promotion at fedex field with doc walker and chris cooley, lunch in the owners club area and tours of the facility including locker room.

and i have to listen to comcast's promotions on their business services (which admittedly would be nice to know), so i get to write it off as a work trip.

Couldn't happen to a nicer guy. **** Mike Wise for going against the fan base and organization that made him who he is. Now they will make him who he is again... nothing.

On a FUN note, I went to see a friend's band tonight at the Stadium Bar & Grill here in Colorado Springs and ran into former Redskins safety Clarence Vaughn, who is now the head football coach at my son's high school. We chatted a little and he said it was great to see Redskins fans in Colorado. He asked what brought me out here to Colorado and I told him I came out at the beginning of the Norv years with my job. He laughed and said I came at the right time. You can tell he's a true Redskin by the things he said about Norv. Let's just say none of it was complimentary but the gist was Cowboys don't belong in Washington.

My son was wearing one of my old "R" hats that were given away at a game back in the RFK days (I have at least two more of them). He got a kick out of that and was nice enough to sign it for us. Here's a pic.

I'm not particularly fond of the guy either but occasionally he'll come up with a little "fluff".

Hail To The 1991 Washington Redskins: Best Team Of The Super Bowl Era?

I've always thought that the 91 team was the best of the Super Bowl era. They had a fluke loss to the Cowboys (their only win that season) when the good guys thought Jimmy Johnson's team would be a pushover. Then losing to the Eagles with nothing but subs the last game of the season and then it was only by one or two points (can't recall the exact score).

Everything else was a blowout, including the playoffs and SB. With a bit more effort and not taking the Pokes lightly, they go 17-0. One of my favorite seasons ever - just an awesome offense.

Edited to correct, 19-0. Thinking too much about the 1972 Dolphins.

The one-win Cowboys were in 1989, BB, Aikman's rookie year (but yes, their one win was against us, blech). The 1991 'Boys were a respectable 11-5, and one year away from winning back to back championships (and 3 out of 4). There was no fluke, just an 11-0 team that got caught by an up and coming team at the right time.

I know, I'm shattering Redskins-fan lore, lol.

I don't know which is worse, Wise commenting on the NFL or NBA.

I agree that at least with the Wizards it is rants on the performance of players or front office.

With the Redskins it seems only to be about name changes and off the field stuff you might see in the non-sports press.

Let us take a minute and be real about all the haters out there regarding Robert Griffin III, RG3, RGIII AKA... IR3 RGknee etc..

In bizarro world where RG3 plays for the Cowboys, our fans dish out much, much more hate and vitriol towards him and the franchise and the nicknames are way worse. Our fans were not classy when he got hurt playing for the Cowboys, Eagles or Giants.

This is pretty damn random... I was watching 'Courage Under Fire' last night, I guess I missed that movie the first time around, and Denzel Washington's character wears a nice Redskins cap in a couple of scenes. Reminiscent of Gene Hackman's character in 'Loose Cannons'.
