Totally disagree. All the other teams they face are over-rated, and very beatable.

Yeah, I tend to agree that the teams are overrated. I still think the GMen will lose one or two though. They just have a weird vibe that I can't really put my finger on. You just never know with them.

From King's article that Goaldeje posted:
Dr. Z Unsung Man in the Trenches of the Week

The award for the offensive lineman who was the biggest factor for his team in the weekend's games, named for my friend Paul Zimmerman, the longtime SI football writer struggling in New Jersey to recover from three strokes in November 2008. Zim, a former collegiate offensive lineman himself, loved watching offensive line play.

Will Montgomery, C, Washington. A standout all season for Washington, he's the No. 2 rated center in the game this year, according to ProFootballFocus.com rankings. Montgomery kept Robert Griffin III clean all game Thursday and was a force in the running game as well. The Redskins did a very smart thing in the offseason when they knew they were in cap jail but also knew they wanted to keep this promising 29-year-old center as the centerpiece for a rebuilt line to protect RGIII. They signed him to an extension through the 2016 season, guaranteeing only $2.5 million of his deal; Montgomery will earn $12 million over the next four years, a good deal for a center who earned it, and a good deal for the team paying him

From the 10 things I like:
1. I think this is what I liked about Week 12:

a. The Washington offensive line, which I have criticized often. Great job enabling Robert Griffin III to make his magic. What a treat a rested Griffin and his mates will be against the Giants, at home, next Monday night.

....
6. I think these sound like the top 10 NFL assistants who will get sniffs for head coaching jobs in the league next year (in order):

1. Mike McCoy, Denver offensive coordinator
2. Mike Zimmer, Cincinnati defensive coordinator
3. Vic Fangio, San Francisco defensive coordinator
4. Perry Fewell, Giants defensive coordinator
5. Dirk Koetter, Atlanta offensive coordinator
6. Dave Toub, Chicago special teams coordinator
7. Bruce Arians, Indianapolis interim head coach/offensive coordinator
8. Ray Horton, Arizona defensive coordinator
9. Kyle Shanahan, Washington offensive coordinator
10. Clyde Christensen, Indianapolis quarterbacks coach.

Careful giving the OL too much credit - RGIII makes their jobs a whole lot easier (which they've admitted). If PFF has Montgomery as the 2nd overall center in the entire NFL this season, it makes me question their rankings even further.

Well I think Peter King is an idiot in general.

I was just highlighting the other Redskins parts of his article.

Take it for whatever Peter King's opinion is worth to you :)

Here. Enjoy. :)

Washington Back in the Wild-Card Race?
The NFC wild-card race should be fun to watch. Even after getting hammered on Sunday night, I'd expect the Packers to pick up the first seed there, assuming they can sweep the Vikings. Seattle, with three home games left, is a good bet for the second spot. But how about the Redskins as a sleeper to sneak in?

They have a quarterback in Robert Griffin III who can keep them in any game. They're warming up at the right time, winning two-straight division games out of the bye. They have a decent schedule with the Giants, Ravens, Browns, Eagles and Cowboys on tap. And most importantly, they have tiebreakers: the Skins beat the Vikings and Buccaneers head-to-head.

With Seattle, Tampa Bay, Minnesota and New Orleans all losing on Sunday, things are suddenly kind of sneakily opening up for Washington to make a run. Let's say they win four of their last five and finish 9-7.

Tampa plays at Denver, New Orleans and Atlanta. Anything above 8-8 would be impressive. The Vikings have the Packers twice, the Texans and the Bears. Is 7-9 out of the question? Seattle could lose two games on the road and then at home to San Francisco to finish 9-7 with a 6-6 conference record. Even with a loss to the Giants, closing out with wins over Philly and Dallas would get Washington to 7-5 in the conference.

It's a long shot. I admit as much. But it's worth noting as we prep for the stretch run.

Or good one anyway -- there are a group of teams (Seattle, Tampa Bay, Minnesota, New Orleans, Washington, Dallas) bunched up at either 6-5 or 5-6 and prepared to duel it out for the last spot, with Green Bay (7-4) holding a slight advantage.

But look at that list of teams again because they all lost on Sunday. Seattle choked in Miami, Minnesota got hammered by the Bears, Tampa Bay couldn't stop Matt Ryan from marching late and the Saints were overpowered by the 49ers defense. Washington's the only team that made up any ground this week.

Eli-te, Again
Of course, it would be totally irresponsible to get on the Redskins hype train without also pointing out that the Giants have a shot to basically wrap up the NFC East when they head to Washington in Week 13.

Oh yes, and that the Giants team that showed up in New York on Sunday night and whipped the Packers 38-10 sure did look like the Giants team that tends to get insanely hot after Thanksgiving and storm into the playoffs.

I hate to keep beating the same drum, though I feel it does need beating, but this is why I have any confidence at all that we MIGHT make a run:

They have a quarterback in Robert Griffin III who can keep them in any game.

The idea that this discussion even exists without people's sanity being questioned is a testament to how much improvement the Redskins have made.

:)

Yeah.

Only one in the list with 4 TD's. Only one guy has a better rating and fewer INT's for the week - that's Tom Brady.

Seeing Mr. Morris so high on the list down from that one warms the heart as well.

EDIT: I also like the fact that it took Romo more than TWICE the number of pass attempts to get 130 more yards than Griff. The man is economical.

The NFL is so wacky this year - Packers come into Texas and absolutely WAX the Texans, then get the favor returned by the Giants. Redskins can barely muster 13 points, at home, against a terrible Carolina team, then drop 31 and 38 against better defenses. I just don't know what to think anymore.

that maybe as much as we complain about the NFL as fans, and we've all harped about how we hate having the same teams at the top... the NFL has gotten it right, and truly acheived parody in the league.

OR!

The talent dropoff isnt nearly what it has been in years past from player to player for the most part (obviously there are exceptions).

While I like the thought of "contending" for the playoffs, I just don't see it. We gave the first game against the Giants away and played like pooh against a Panther team we should have beaten easily.

I think it will be a fun ride but I won't start believing in destiny until we beat BOTH the Giants and Ravens.

we need this win monday ...hawks ,vikes, tampa, all have a chance at losing ...with a win we'll be in tha wild card spot ! gods willing

meril hodge liking tha redskins to sneak in tha playoffs ...what i never heard this guy talk good bout tha skins! rg3 is opening peoples eyes !
