Taking a page from the Redskins' front office statisticians, the coaching staff has clearly been working on how to try to describe the Redskins outhouse-detritus performances as merely "processed food" -- i.e., while they are technically truthy, they fundamentally miss the underlying reality of what many of us (admittedly less informed, judgmental, reactionary, unwashed, etc.) fans have been seeing and saying.
To wit:
That's a joke right? From 35 points a game to a third of that isn't regressing? Then what would be regressing? A streak of Pick 6s? Negative net passing/rushing yards?
And what's defined as a moderate improvement exactly? Not giving up a huge passing play? Crap, that can't be it. Not allowing two 90+ yard drives? Shoot, that can't be it either. So what could it possibly be?
In fairness, Haslett later in the article is reported as saying something which speaks to a lot of the criticisms:
And that's fair enough -- but two questions remain: (i) if his best is the best that we can get and (ii) if the guys we've got are the best that we can get.
Unfortunately, the answers to both questions are likely "no" or really, "not by a long shot."

I promise this came directly from the WP and not the Onion said:Redskins offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan doesn’t believe that his unit has regressed despite mustering only 25 points in the last two games combined. Meanwhile, defensive coordinator Jim Haslett says that his unit seems to be making moderate improvements, but that he continues to search for answers to their problems.

Redskins Insider said:“I come to work, I work hard, I do the best that I can with the guys that we’ve got, try to put guys in position to win games, and that’s all I can do,” Haslett said.
