After the most impressive rookie season from a quarterback in NFL history, where is Jayden Daniels ranked amongst his peers entering the 2025 NFL season?

Pro Football Focus recently ranked all 32 projected starting quarterbacks for 2025 and has Daniels ranked No. 6:

Perhaps we’re crowning Daniels a bit too early, as plenty of quarterbacks have had standout rookie seasons only to regress in Year 2. But what separates Daniels is his poise under pressure and in clutch moments late in the year. His rookie campaign was arguably the best we’ve ever seen, with his 90.6 overall grade marking the highest ever recorded by PFF for a rookie quarterback.

Here are the five quarterbacks ranked ahead of Daniels:

  • Patrick Mahomes, Chiefs
  • Joe Burrow, Bengals
  • Lamar Jackson, Ravens
  • Josh Allen, Bills
  • Jalen Hurts, Eagles

Most NFL folks believe Daniels is ahead of Hurts. Still, being ranked sixth before your second season tells you just how good Daniels is and will be. Daniels is ranked ahead of quarterbacks like Matthew Stafford (7th), Justin Herbert (8th) and Jared Goff (9th). PFF ranked C.J. Stroud 14th, saying his step back in 2024 could be a cautionary tale for Daniels.

While that's true, there are plenty of reasons to believe Daniels will be even better in 2025.
