We all have some foods that, whether because dear old Mom or Dad made them for us as kids, they bring back a rush of nostalgia, or we just plain love them.

We may not even fully know WHY they make us feel better - but when we eat those dishes, it just feels like home.

Is it a banana sandwich? Your mom's mac and cheese? Your favorite meatloaf?

For me, one of those meals is Tuna Casserole. I know. Weird right? But I loved it as a kid and my mom would make it just for me. It's not complex :) Canned tuna, peas, mushroom soup, and potato chips. That's it, more or less. I still make it for myself every once in awhile. For reasons I will never fully understand, it just makes me feel good.

What's the best comfort food in your life?

This may sound weird, but:

A big bowl of ramen and either a sandwich or chips. Just something noodles and broth that always makes me feel warm inside and happy.

1. Fried chicken and my Mother’s homemade potato salad recipe.

2. Meatloaf and mashed potatoes.

3. Open-faced hot turkey sandwich and mashed potatoes.

(I’m sensing a pattern) 🤣

Spaghetti with my moms homemade sauce, I actually will be having some of that this evening

Totino's party pizza - something about the flaky crust just works for me

Canadian winters are freezing!

Comfort food for me has to warm my belly.

I would say a nice bowl of chili or pea soup in the winter really hit the spot.

1. Meatloaf, mashed potatoes, green beans, and a salad.
2. Chicken and rice, sweet corn, sweet peas, egg salad.
3. Chicken fried steak, black-eyed peas, fried okra, coleslaw.

Any of the above could include cornbread made in a cast iron skillet.

I don't remember my mom every making lasagna as a kid (not that that's the only criteria for a comfort food). It just wasn't on the rotational menu at our house which is odd.
