I don't get the obsession with helmet stripes. I like the simple matte look but I know I'm in the minority. The stripes may be 'Redskins' tradition but they don't go with the new logo at all imho.

Unlikely. I think it's pretty easy to rule out if it's the same or similar to what i saw on reddit. Guardian caps look lumpy and ruffled, like shower caps. While the outline isn't perfect smooth, it's not particularly distorted. Stretched out to minimise the ruffled effect, the cap would cover where the straps connect to the helmet. The base of the helmet is clearly not covered by a wrinkly cap, even in the original.
 
I'm pretty sure they've already said they're only updating the black uniforms? Wasn't that what came out back in March?
 
Other than those who complain ‘black isn’t a Washington color’ or that we look like the Steelers, the black uniform is easily the best designed and most popular of the 3 Commanders jerseys (maybe not here but based on jersey sales). I don’t understand why that one would be the one they would choose to ‘update’?

I don’t recall this being said but possible I missed it.

I'm just curious, where are you getting this from ?
When I'm watching the games, it seems like the jersey I see the most in the crowd is the burgundy. It doesn't even seem close.
Just Daniels for example. Seems like I see more burgundy, than black.
 
Let me rephrase… the Daniels black jersey is by far the hottest selling Commanders jersey. That was widely recognized last season. But you’re right, that doesn’t necessarily equate to best-selling (but I have to think sales of Daniels jersey make up the biggest portion of jerseys sold overall). I don’t know how to answer the question definitively. It just seems odd that the jersey people seem to have the fewest aesthetic issues with would be the one they would tweak (if that in fact is the case).
 
I wouldn't buy anything that's not burgundy (I do have 2 Morris 46 t-shirts, one b and one gold that's too bright to wear out of the house, lol). My 10 Elite is burgundy, both of my hoodies and my sweatshirts too. My neighbor Redskinskinfan gave me a white "Hail Yeah" shirt with the feather on it, but other than those exceptions, I want everything in burgundy.

And we need our gold pants back with stripes on the side. I hate the "no stripes" thing.
 
I could have sworn they announced in March they were cleaning up the black uniforms--specifically the helmet. A lot of this commotion is created by the "maybe, maybe, maybe" crowd who read into things--like the spear in the team photos--without any real rationale behind it. I could be wrong, it's been known to happen on occasion. As much as I love the Battle Blacks (I have a JD5), that helmet sucks. After the white Cardinals jerseys we have, that's the 2nd biggest uniform change that needs be made.

Nicki Jahbvala tweeted that this was the worst kept secret in the NFL, so I don't think we're getting the overhaul a lot of this board wanted. We'll see--I'd love a Spear Helmet uniform. Those would be impossible to keep on the shelves.
 
I have no idea what to expect. I wouldn't even dare to make a prediction.
White jersey ?
Burgundy jersey ?
The team says " alternate ", which implies it won't techniclly be an exact throwback, although " alternate " could mean some kind of combination of previous uniforms.
Will this cut into the number of times we see the black alternates. You can wear " alternates " up to four times a year. Or, two games with all-blacks, and two times with the new alternates maybe ?

I gotta admit, I was never a fan of the spear helmets in the past because they look too much like FSU (I'm a native Gator).
But I'd sure as hell take 'em now.
 
How about the Lombardi-era uniforms, but with the current "W"?

That would give us a second helmet color, it would incorporate a past look, and it would be SWEET.

Or, maybe it's the Gibbs/Super Bowl-era look, just with the current "W".

Personally, I think that the battle blacks are gone.
 
I have a sneaking suspicion this picture taken during the draft is what the helmet will look like.

Where there is smoke there is fire.
