I'm not an O's fan, but I want to sincerely congratulate the fan base. It's much deserved and Baltimore is a hell of a baseball town when they have a team worth cheering for.
So congrats. Enjoy a well deserved post season appearance.
Apparently the Red Sox are using the last three games to showcase their young talent - and are going with a spring training roster. Thanks a lot, Boston! As if I needed another reason to hate them, now they're practically handing the division to the Yankees. Is this some stupid old-boy baseball rules thing? Bullcrap!
Hat tip to 40 year-old Raul Ibanez...smoked back to back homers to win game 3 for the Yankees. Damn. Orioles need someone like that to step up!
Bullpen has been the Orioles strength all season, but late-game collapses by Johnson have led to both Yankees' wins. He needs to figure that out quickly, or this will end tonight.
I' so glad they pulled it out. Right after I posted that I had a horrible feeling I had jinxed them!
And how about Manny Machado? 20-year old kid hasn't hit much, but damn have they been clutch in this series! If Johnson doesn't make one bad pitch to Ibanez two nights ago, he'd have been the hero for that game as well and this series would be over!
I think both teams are going to turn on the O tonight. Its only a matter of time, really - this ball park with these two HR-hitting teams; one of these games HAS to be a slugfest, right?
Big game tonight. With no ARod it should be interesting to see how the Yankees respond. I agree that our bats have to come alive at some point and tonight seems like a good night for that!!
I never watch baseball. But I have gotten sucked in with both the Nats and Orioles being relevant this year. I mean, I ATTENDED Washington Senators games as a kid but generally find it a boring sport to follow. I am on board right now...listened to the Nats game on the radio last evening coming back from TN and even that was exciting. I am not real hopeful either advance but I guess we'll see.
As we enjoy today's conversations, let's remember our dear friends 'Docsandy', Sandy Zier-Teitler, and 'Posse Lover', Michael Huffman, who would dearly love to be here with us today! We love and miss you guys ❤
