Having seen, thanks to the popularity of shocking videos on both cable channels and the internet, videos of police officers being struck by vehicles while apprehending drunk drivers, speeders...etc., I believe I understand the rationale behind such a law.

That has been a law in Florida for years.

This law does make sense. When you have a child that is a police officer you appreciate laws like this. The area he works speeding isn't an issue, but rather drugs, gangs, and other violence that causes his mom worry.

That sounds like a great idea. I see no reason why I couldn't slow down to 70mph if it would help keep Georgia's finest a bit safer. ;-)
