I don't know if it's an 'older guy getting older' thing or what? But I find myself at least several times a month waking up very early and knowing, immediately, that I will not be getting back to sleep. Probably a combination of falling out early at times, waking up to the wife's impressive snoring, and age-related changes. Yesterday, I was up at 3 a.m. and rather than lay there and toss and turn, I just got cleaned up, hopped on my trike, and rode into work. Of course, then I was ready for bed by 7 p.m. last night and now here I am, wide awake watching movies and talking to myself on BGO at 2:30 in the morning.

I humbly submit this thread so that you can easily alert us all that you are up. For no apparent reason. When you really don't need to be.

All present and accounted for :drillsergeant:

I consistently experience the same issue. This morning for instance, I was up a 3 am, tossed for two hours, then fell asleep again by 5 am. In fact, if my work hours required that I needed to be up by 2 or 3 am each day, I likely wouldn't need an alarm clock. I am not sure if I need to start medicating myself to sleep longer into the morning, or if my brain is just far too wired. Maybe moving forward, we need to consider a Blind Insomniac Pig special edition podcast.

I can't seem to face up to the facts
I'm tense and nervous and I can't relax
I can't sleep 'cause my bed's on fire
Don't touch me, I'm a real live wire
